Not necessarily.

We have no idea if there was anyone the club really liked. No point if there wasn’t.
There was probably a reason for why we didn't open up a spot.

But if it's because we just didn't really like anyone, then the list team should be sacked. It's their job. So do the job, and pick the one they dislike the least in a position we need the most. And in the MSD it only has to be for 6 months. It'd be the height of arrogance if they assumed they couldn't be shown something they hadn't seen.

Then there should have been transparency and communication in that event. At that point in time, we were ravaged by injuries, especially to key talls. McMahon had just kicked a bag against us as well in the VFL, so to let him through to another club is incredibly frustrating.

Was it trying to manage existing personnel and their feelings? Being blocked by the AFL? A lack of interest in the available player talent or possibly a lack of interest from available talent willing to play in Sydney?

We know nothing, and that's what's got so many of us riled up.

Or the medical prognosis on the injured players wasn’t 100% clear & we thought they might play again in 2025.

Certainly looks like Logan might have, if we were still in the hunt.

I think benefit of the doubt applies on this one.

I think there was probably a reason as I said, either that or we couldn't justify getting him on the inactive list by the deadline.

But I was commenting on us just not liking anyone, so we didn't bother. Which would be horrific.

Right when we've conceded defeat and look ahead with optimism to a fresh fit start next year, watch the 2-3 late season mishaps and injuries start to roll in that put their pre season and round 1 chances at risk. You just know it's going to happen...

There will also be that random key senior player who has surgery for an ongoing issue kept under wraps which ends up complicated and turning into a no pre season and round 5 return which gets pushed out to 8.

The worst one will be the surgery that should happen now but won't happen until half way through pre season and kill off most of their season next year.

Will Hayward
Will presented with a tight calf after our training session last week and was subsequently ruled out of our match against Essendon with a low grade calf strain. He will be a test to return to play against Brisbane this weekend. Test

Not the worst result, he should be alright come start of pre season. Put him on ice. Same injury as last year?

Everyone knows how highly I rate this bloke so watch our middle of the ground run and overlap evaporate without him the next couple of weeks.
I agree - we were terrible when he went out last year - zero run from defence as you said.

I think they tried playing Warner across half back but then the goals started to dry up and he's not a defenders bumhole.

He should be good in a couple of months - PCLs are nowhere near as tricky as ACLs, usually. 🤞🤞
