Ah well, you see, there's your mistake. Kicking a goal means you lose posession and returns the ball to the middle the field.CD's algorithm punishes players who win the contest but then make a mistake with the footy more than it punishes players who lose the contest. There have been games where I've received a higher ranking score sitting on my ass in the stands than somebody out on the field getting a decent amount of the ball but burning it a bit and ending up in the negatives. That's absurd.
The other major flaw is that it doesn't place anywhere near enough emphasis on goals. Matthew Kennedy has been a better forward than Jeremy Cameron this year if Champion Data are to be believed.
Clearly a negative outcome. Better off just kicking it around the F50 continually racking up i50 marks, setting up potential scoring opportunities and maintaining possession.
Bulk rating points to be had with that strategy, and I hear rating points have a very high correlation with winning games, so what could go wrong?
