Fantasia if fit will exceed Owies output easily

It is shit but if we were pinning our hopes to Smith as the missing piece then we were looking at his acquisition the wrong way

250 gamer who will make a difference in time, in his first year he’d have been a beautiful addition but in year 3 and 4 I think he’d be a difference maker

True. It’s also the delay on his progression to become a difference maker and worst case (hopefully unlikely) it could prevent him from reaching his true potential given one of his strengths is his movement.

Also fair, I think modern rehab will have him OK but yes I can imagine he will lose valuable time in the traps with our highly talented midfield minds (Voss, Cripps, Walsh)

Shit however you spin it but I don’t think he was who we should’ve pinned our hopes on for 2025

We need Voss to get creative. This is regardless of Jagga going down or not.

We need to see more rotations in the midfield and get some X factor in there. Plan B - what is it?
The concern is we don't have midfield depth. We're relying on Cerra and Walsh to play majority of the season now which based on history isn't looking likely.

On the hunt now for a replacement midfielder for the MSD.

Question mark on Newman’s return for a second pick (however unlikely we select 2 players unless we have a poor start and high picks, which is unwanted).

There are a few clubs lobbying the afl to reopen the SSP window before the season. Let’s hope they listen.

Makes perfect sense for any club to replace a player that suffered a season injury but we have clowns running the AFL so they might be against it

Just makes no sense why you would have the SSP period ending half way through a round of practice matches. Surely you either let all clubs get a look at their SSP picks in the practice match or none of then.

The real disaster may well be the closing of the SSP window, surely doing that whilst there are active Practice Games operating is first class lunacy!?!
Jagga was going to add flavour to the team, but he never actually has/did. He now becomes an extra first round recruit for '26, that is the only positive light to view this catastrophe in.
If we get to add a player he needs to be someone ready to go now, not some kid who could be "anything", but someone who can step straight in, just don't ask me who......

Issue is even if we get the exemption none of our SSP picks that missed out are midfielders. We would either be picking someone that doesn't fill that role or just picking a VFL prospect blind that may have tried out at another club.

We never should've traded Kennedy.

Kennedy was a popular player that played in every position the coach asked only to be traded.

The responsibility is with the coach and list manager. Voss's coaching career is on the line.

I'd rather get games into players like Campo and Wilson for starters.

Wouldn’t be for this season, you’d think.
This is where clubs had played their scratchie but then had the SSP still open to select a player, whereas clubs like (MFC & us) have lost a player to an ACL with no availability to select a replacement until the MSD.

Will fly in the face of trying to assist state league clubs by not removing key planks just before their season with extra SSP signings.
