McMahon isn’t on our list. But he isn’t on anyone else’s either. I agree the VFL form seemed good. But we aren’t the only club to overlook him. So clearly there are some concerns held more widely about his AFL capabilities.

Well I don't sucumb to group think. I know what I see. Mcmahon is a better footballer than Lemmey, Evans and white. Mcmahon is worth a year on the list given Curnow's injury

Better VFL footballer maybe. But going on your logic, we should’ve picked up Billy Gowers cause he kicked the most goals last season

This is rubbish. SOS nailed about 5 picks in 5 years. It has only been since getting rid of a lot of the high picks SOS brought in that we’ve gotten better. As well as our investment in and nailing of SSP and MSD players over the last 3 or 4 years

I also don't succumb to people saying that he didn't impress enough at preseason to be given a list spot. Unless I hear if from the club, it means diddly squat. At the end of the day, if we wanted a tall in the SSP, we would have taken a tall.

Totally agree that McMahon should be on our list this year - he's a plug and play option, and a far better option than Lemmey as it currently stands as a back up if our tall stocks deplete.

I still have some hope for big Lem, but from what I've seen still looks a long way off.

To be fair, the ones he nailed are still the spine of our team which is one of, if not the best in the game. McKay and Curnow in particular were not guarantees to pan out, nor was TDK.

They've had a more balanced approach to drafting, trades and list composition.

We have lots of depth at one position because of all the picks that have gone into small forwards.

When one third of our list are small forwards, depth at other positions is compromised.

He's clearly not quite up to it. He had similar goal kicking figures at the Suns VFL and they never had him on their senior list before eventually moving him on. He's kept that form up at Carlton VFL but still hasn't got the chance.

It's not just Carlton not senior listing him, it's every team in the AFL. We have a closer look at him than the rest, sure, but after 3 yrs of finishing at the pointy end of the goal kicking tally no AFL team is interested.

I think he's one of those guys that is very good at VFL level but physical limitations would have him exposed at AFL level. He's at a very similar VFL output to Chris Burgess, but Burgess is stronger and more athletic (while not being that athletic or strong, just moreso than McMahon) so has gotten gigs on 2 AFL lists but is still clearly below the level physically.

Imo Ison is the only of that group I'd say is a bankable talent of that group. Others may come on this year but I wouldn't be clearing the decks for them just yet

If rumours are true that Curnow is out for 6 to 10 weeks, we should have selected Mcmahon. Last week Kemp and Jsos the other forwards didn't play. Lemmey is not near it. Will we play Okeefe?
