Be a very different vibe down there next year if Nas and Ro are gone
At least with Ro we can hold him to his contract.

No of course, but we just can't be bullied into taking a poor return. The poster above who mentioned Butters, he's the domino to fall in all of this IMO. Short of him being involved there's no way for it to make any sense for us.
He won't want to go to Perth.
Time for a poll - you should start a thread perhaps ? Pretty sure Nas and Williams lurk here so poll could influence decision. One

except there is an indication he is going. its round 21 and he hasnt signed. thats a huge indicatorI get the stress and frustration but there is still NO indication that Nas is leaving.
The media would love to dance on our grave if Nas was leaving, so right now there is no indication he is leaving, because if there was, we would know about it from the vultures trying to break the story first.
For all those saying that if he was staying he would have signed by now...well some history says that. But there has been other cases of players re-signing in late August, even late September - namely Dustin Martin and Jordan De Goey.
Why would Nas re-sign now as his value continues to go up and up? Why not wait until after the season to re-sign if you are going to get your one huge pay day?
I'm not saying this is definitely the case, but it's quite plausible - and more of a chance that this is happening than him leaving, in my opinion.
It does disappoint me a little if Nas is trying to squeeze every dollar out - and despite those blaming his agent - the player is also culpable. But it will set him up for life no matter what happens.
When I think of Nas' future, I think of this quote spoken after the Melbourne game in Alice Springs. Things can change, so he might have changed his mind. But this wasn't a man leaving the St Kilda football club when he spoke these words.
Chins up.
"I am happy playing here. I've got great relationships with the boys. I love Ross, I love all the coaching staff. I want to be part of something special here at St Kilda," Wanganeen-Milera told AFL.com.au after passing a SKAT5 test at TIO Traeger Park on Sunday night.
"This is obviously a step towards it. We've got a good young crew. We are all self-driven and want to be the best Saints ever. That's what we are striving for. We know there are going to be ups and downs. We just want to keep sticking at it and getting to work.
"Obviously the media talks, so we just try and concentrate on getting to work on building out our future. I try and let my footy do the talking and try and avoid the stuff. My manager is back in Adelaide so we will talk over there."

Ill preface this by saying i have no idea either way, im guessing like everyone else BUT...I get the stress and frustration but there is still NO indication that Nas is leaving.

It's not. Why sign if your value continues to rise?except there is an indication he is going. its round 21 and he hasnt signed. thats a huge indicator
If he leaves we will get unders, the reality is short of Butters there is nothing Port have (or Adelaide for that matter) that would be sufficient. We can though. If he was contracted, then we would be in a much stronger position. If we're being pragmatic and not emotional, a player or two and Port's two picks is the best we could expect.
Nas could walk and ask for a 5 mil, 2 year deal and he'd be snapped up by WC, to be traded to Port next year. We can't pay that money unless we trade out several senior players (or abandon the TDK pursuit which doesn't seem likely).
We're up shit creek with a very flimsy paddle. We're going to have to make the best of a bad situation
His value isnt getting higher than it was Sunday night. Even if he did that for the next 5 weeks it wont raise his value, its already literally the highest point possible. It's not. Why sign if your value continues to rise?
Maybe he geniuinely is torn?
I'm positive about the situation until I'm given a reason not to be.
That hasn't come yet.
And if there was a significant chance he was leaving at this stage, the media noise would be coming about us being f*****.
That hasn't come yet either.

And there is no world that Aleer is a first round pick. Out of contract. $750k is chump change. Third rounder or GTFO.This simply cannot be the return for Nas. It's not enough.
Yep, this is a terrific result, kicking aside he’s got a hell of a lot going for him as an inside bull who can run, and you’d imagine that West Coast would have been in his ear about going home. The Box re-signing is underrated as he is a WA boy and WA players tend to have the biggest pull back home.
What year did Megan Fox appear in Transformers again?Loved box since I was about 13.
Predates Hugh being born by 20 odd years but that’s not relevant
I get what you're saying.Ill preface this by saying i have no idea either way, im guessing like everyone else BUT...
The time of year, the fact he didnt sign after Sunday (when his value and the good vibes will never be higher) the lure of home and all the noise would all be considered indicators that hes more likely to go than stay at this point.
I tend to live by the "whatever will be will be" and i believe the club admin would be doing everything they can to keep him but its fantasy to suggest theres no indicators hes leaving, all the relevant data points would indicate hes leaving, its just none of them are concrete (just as none that hes staying are).
I get what you're saying.
And he very well could leave.
But I choose to believe certain things such as his performances, media noise, previous quotes, lack of capital Port have, appearances such as riding on the coach's shoulders and maybe even a little bit of Tony74 override are stronger than any other factor. Just my opinion.
We can debate the meaning of 'indication' and 'indicators' all day (which is where the point of contention is) - but I don't consider the fact he still hasn't re-signed yet as an indicator when there are other cases of late sign ons. To me, it makes no sense for a player to sign early if their value is rising. And I expect we will see more and more players doing this in the future also.
The indicators to me that he is gone are:
If one of these turned, then I would seriously be starting to worry. At any minute they could turn. But it hasn't happened yet and I choose to be positive until there is an actual reason for me to be negative. That sounds like a good way to live life. That isn't directed at you personally, but others.
- Media noise
- Player performance
- General noise
- Teammates/coach body language
Nowhere near itThis simply cannot be the return for Nas. It's not enough.
Not all players are clued on stuff outside of playing footy.why would Nas allow his agent to make the club that's developed him to this level make it look like shit?
