Doubt it. Pretty sure we were up to our eyeballs in Reid along time back. Keep in mind we have a massive war chest and we could keep Nas and also bring in Reid.

Personally, I think the odds of us getting Reid are about as high as Wilkie being traded.
Maybe I’m an outlier - but I’m still not convinced re Reid. - only young & could be a superstar but Figjam vibes who came back this pre season out of shape.

NAS is a different matter - has exploded into a genuine superstar of the competition. Every bit as good if not better than love child Naicos.

Ok boys and girls, today is my birthday AND it’s a Tuesday… Ross on Footy Classified… surely the stars are aligning to have Nas sign four years today. After all, today is the 12th of the 8th and 12-8 =4 MORE YEARS 🥴

(Spending my birthday refreshing this thread only to be disappointed, that’s so St Kilda…)
Congrats on your birthday and all the life choices which have led to you making this post today.
My Birthday is Oct 7 and one special year I got Andrew Lovett. Hope your dreams come true today as well.

Batten down the hatches boys - we’re under siege today!

Gee ... we are finally winning games, looking like a decent club and we are under siege.

All of this should have been dealt with weeks ago. Hope we aren't past the point of no return.

Club needs to make something happen ASAP, once it starts then the dominos start falling.

Tom Morris this morning throwing the following players under the bus as the centre of the “player unrest story”, a “close group of mates”:

- Windhager (OOC, agent thinks his has been low balled, club thinks their expectations are the stuff of dreams)

- Marshall (massive trade speculation)

- Butler (contracted until 2026, but wasn’t certain he would be around when he spoke at the member function last week)

- Howard (out of contract)

- Steele (massive trade speculation)

Marshall should have never have been put in this position, he's been one of our best players for years.

Very very upset on this one, especially after our ruck debacles of the last decade.

What position has he been put in?

You understand the bloke asked the club for a move last offseason?

All the club have done is bring someone across to work in tandem with them.

On paper it looks bad, but if we lose Butler, Steele and Marshall and we got decent picks for them, I’d do it every day of the week.

I’ve defended Butler in the past as a decent pressure forward, but if he wants to go elsewhere, that’s no loss

Butler, Steele and Marshall can be traded if we get decent deals. Wilkie, Nas and Windy must stay.

We are lucky to have gotten so much football out of the guy. Hes been injured for years, it’s only a matter of time before he breaks down.

It’s all well and good for him to not like the idea of having competition for his position, but if he’s our only option - that’s not good.

Tim Watson claiming that we’ve offered Harley Reid $25m over 12 years
This is peak SOS and gubby.

Offer crazy money to a bloke who's told people he will never come to our club.

Then proceed to low ball the match winning mid we do have in NAS.

Never change st kilda. Never change.

The club has tabled an offer of $25m over 12 years to Harley Reid according to Tim Watson. He’s very credible.

This will be our contingency should Nas leaves, and I for one, am happy that the club isn’t sitting around and waiting. nas has had similar offered from the club to stay.
Only one problem. He's told people he don't want to come.

“What’s the report? I haven’t heard it”

“First time hearing this yeah… yeahhh, I’m quite shocked actually”

“News to me, in the fullness of time”
He’s not going on a program that eats out of hands with all these rumours flying around without something to say. He’s smart enough to know it’s a platform where no one will speak back or challenge him so it’s one of the few chances for him to actually say something.
