When he says it's with his manager and he is concentrating on football, I believe that is exactly what is happening. He is being directed by the manager and what do you think the manager is saying to him when each week his brownlow odds are dropping?

It's a classic shakedown and if I was his manager, I'd be doing the same thing.

I mean, wouldn't you spend a further 2 years to see where the club is going and then, if you leave, you've given the SA clubs time to prepare their assets and he has a more smooth exit.

There is no way him leaving this year ends in a smooth exit.

If the final offer has been made, no amount of 3 vote performances will change that.

Up until that point Williams has been right to hold off as he shot from a top 50 player to a top 5 player in the game.

Doing what we all would do, holding out for a better deal for his client.

Everyone is guessing but I suspect Nas’ Manager has asked all 3 Clubs to put in their best and final offer - they will then compare and make a decision.

Ps just on Ralph’s article re PA - punters might not like him but his analysis was pretty spot on - only a few players we would consider as part of a trade (who are all untouchable) and the rest of them aren’t worth a cold pie to the Saints. As for current and future draft picks - just garbage.

If he somehow gets to PA we will have been completely done over!

It's probably a fair position for the club to take at this stage. At a guess, I'd say talks regarding an extension probably started this time last year, Nas has had plenty of time to think this over. We've got 44 list sports to manage, not one.

I still believe that his decision wont be a financial one, so he's just gotta make up his mind about where he wants to live.

Or the manager has agreed to the terms of the contract, and if Nas doesn’t leave, it’s what they’ll sign.

It’s pretty clearly Nas leaving, or staying. No amount of contract bullshit will change that.

The terms are likely agreed on by all parties.

I highly doubt the saints have just said here is your final offer without some progress to get there.

The expectation would be that we have had a discussion and understand what Williams is asking for.

I suppose it could be that we have gotten nowhere and Williams isn’t giving us an indication and we are shooting in the dark and they keep saying no we want more. But that just doesn’t sound likely.

Obviously money comes into it to a degree, but you could offer Nas a Kings ransom but the bottom line is if Nas wants to live bayside Melbourne or bayside Adelaide & i would think that decision is harder then the dollars on offer.
