Why the new found optimism?

I think when you correlate all the different things over the last week it looks good for us.

The interview really caused a lot of despair including with me, but I was thinking if he is signing and has been told not to give anything away, what was he meant to say? I just don't know if it's as bad as it sounded.

Eddie confident, Tony74 confident, Joey saying he's confident, I thought Wilkie speaking about wanting to re-sign Windy and Nas was also a good sign, made me think he's possibly been told something.

Aside from all that I just think him getting to SA is going to be so damn hard. They have nothing to deal with. So the easiest thing for him to do is re-sign. If he requests a trade it will be a nightmare.

Having said all that, it's getting tight. But I've gone from despair to hope again.

I agree. And his kicking skills alone are not enough to get a game. He is too slow and/or not agile enough, for many positions.

His main hope would possibly to improve his intercept marking game. Though Tauru if he stays in the backline may have that position locked up.

Wilkie will be locked in by the club and should retire with us. I would be surprised if he is not Captain next year.

So with Wilkie, Aleer and Tauru down back, there is not a slot for Arie.

Possibly with his long and accurate kicking he could make a forward. Though the Club has not really tried him as such. Again he would need to improve his marking game to succeed in the forward line. Negative on this is he does not have the quick burst lead that you want forwards to ideally have.

So as mentioned before at present I struggle to see where Arie fits in.

However, after another season to improve both his strength and running ability hopefully he can improve enough to be good in a position.

Arie just gotta be side by side with Mason Wood all off season to build his tank and professionalism and then take the wing spot off Mase

You really think I signed up 10 years ago and just sat lurking through all the eras of George, Johnny Ray Flamingo, Longer v Hickey etc just waiting to send people to training for a NAS announcement

To me his weapon is so good you work out how to maximise it. Brisbane are good at finding ways to get the best from individuals.

I wasn’t talking shit.

I want people to hurry up and post those images. Because I’m aware of 2 different convos and Joey saying the same thing. I think some would laugh and some would relax and the second part feels pretty important right now for this fanbase.

I don’t see myself as an ITK and most the time if I cared about the tag or wanting to prove people wrong I could just post my own proof. Luckily it’s not about point scoring.

And I’ve never sent this fan base off to Moorabbin like you have.

It is like all this furore about TDK joining St Kilda as a high paid Free Agent.

When FA was being announced the AFL indicated that this would benefit teams lower down the ladder by being able to bring in Guns lured by large contracts that successful clubs would not be able to match, and to thus land them instead of the the teams high up on the ladder. History indicated instead that Guns would instead sacrifice the largest contracts over other factors like chance of a Flag. FA in the main became the opposite and served more as a pathway for good players to leave struggling teams for teams up the ladder. Rather than help equalise the competition it di the reverse.

St Kilda as lower place team finally lures a Gun Player /Big Fish player, and despite it being exactly what the AFL originally intended happen, the whole AFL World just decries it as madness

If he leaves, we have the whole off season to be miserable. But for now, he's still our player so why not embrace the hope and positive comments from people who might actually have real information.

Most people here are willing to take people on face value. To trust. To most of us that is a virtue.

Most people come on here to chat, to learn to comment, to gather information, to share their passion for the Saints and to have a bit of banter.

So a forum like this is an environment where it is easy for Troll like you to spin a lie.

Completely agree with you about the interview. I don't think you can take anything away from an interview with a young guy who clearly isn't a good public speaker, and has been told to say nothing. Acting like it's actual evidence for him leaving is insane.
