So we are all in agreement--Port Board, we will trade Nas for Berry, Bergman, Butters and a first rounder.
Well we’re nearly there.

Swap Nas for Cordy, who I believe once holidayed at Glenelg, and we have a deal 👍🏻

Yes he can lol, players have done it before. Clubs won't do anything to jeopardize their relationships with player managers, which is why the players can effectively go to the team of their choice.

Luke Ball walked to the draft, and went to the club of his choice. He refused to engage with any other club, which is precisely what NWM would do.

The player has the power.
Yes indeed. Ball was Collingwood’s pick 31 if I remember correctly. If he decides he’s leaving and there’s no deal we’re satisfied with, too bad.

Not particularly silly no. It’s actually quite the opposite with windy. When he’s asked to tag he tends to find more of the footy than when he doesn’t.

He hasn’t demonstrated that he can consistently find the footy. He may well break out next year, but to this stage he hasn’t and as such we shouldn’t be paying him more than market rate for an equivalent.
Yea because he’s a young player and no he hasn’t always gotten more footy when tagging. FFS.

Regarding this 2025 Draft ... there doesnt seem to be a clear Top 10 ...even a clear Top 5 ..... I reckon Twomey has his work cut out this year .... unless of course his club whisperering cheat sheet is super rock solid

All I want to see is a good 3 or 4 academy selections right before ours that read "Matched bid from St Kilda" and make em pay.

Has something happened for the Nas going to the draft route?

Or are our collective imagination getting bored and looking to melt at shadows?
Just the idea that it's going to be difficult for him to leave, if that's what he wants to do, because Port doesn't have the trade capital to make it happen.

Some think that's a factor, I don't.

If I had a choice between a 2 year where he isn't a FA and a 4 year deal where he is. Give me the 2 year deal!
Agree completely - but it does mean that if we're in this exact situation again in 2 years time and Port have the capital, we have to seriously consider a trade before FA kicks in (unless magic happens and we're in a flag window).

We will probably beat Tigers and North. The 2 swing games are Dees and Bombers. Need to lose both of those to ensure we finish below them.

Would be more then happy to pick our least experienced team possible for each of those games.
Pick Heath, Dodson and Tauru in the same team. Viking kicks to big Heath, who then boots it lace out to Dodson at full forward. Goal.

We need a top four pick? Why? We hear this every year but then we got Tauru with pick 10.

We need to draft well. Look how many top four picks North have.
See how well we did with a #10 pick, so think of how good our #4 pick will be!

Regarding the windy slander by some.

Here are his stats compared to some others. I’ll let you guess who.

At the same age too.
I haven’t seen any slander? He’s a solid prospect but he hasn’t done enough to demand a long term contract (4 years +) on decent coin.
Do I think he could be in that position by the end of next year? Yes. Is he there now? Not quite

The issue with Windy for me is decision making and ball use. He is definitely the sort of player that slams it on the boot without looking.

Contrast that to a Garcia who is showing signs of composure in traffic. If you lined up their stats they are probably similar, but Garcia looks far more promising.

I like Windy, but not sure he is going to make it as a midfielder. If he has been giving that feedback and he is feeling a bit offended, we should just lie to him until we get NAS's signature🤣

The Northern Academy draftees look ok but nothing special .... they couldnt even beat Vic Country on the weekend and barely got over WA ... that said Zeke Uwland has been missing with a back injury and he is supposedly the highest rated

If we do pick a NA player it will be because we rate him at that pick

Dalrymple loves his smart skilful users and good kicks ..... which we desperately need
