We’ll be working the basics this off-season, don’t worry! What skills have we shown that we could kick it to a player on the lead?
Hence trade period and getting rid of Curnow. To provide capital to execute serious change to said list. What skills have we shown that we could kick it to a player on the lead?
Zac Williams absolutely MUST play HHF if we want decent delivery. We’ll be working the basics this off-season, don’t worry!

We are going to need a miracle from somewhere is the realistic answer. A late pick who turns into a star, Betts or Garlett's boys coming in and being guns from day dot, a star free agent we can front load the crap out of... It's going to be tough going.I like the additions the past week but am worried about the outs but I wanted to move away from the Charlie chat and ask, how do we build quality small forward stocks, if we keep ignoring the issue?
I like the addition of Ainsworth but we need lots more, our academy players Dean and Isin don’t address the issue and Gresham and Clarke are very speculative.
If we trade up the order again, we remove ourselves from the range that these forwards fall in, there is no Rachele or Watson this year.
So where are we bringing these players in?
He must also get involved from the season opening and remain invested in playing strong footy.Zac Williams absolutely MUST play HHF if we want decent delivery.
Ainsworth can play inside the F50
Acres in the core of our side in 2026?Adding Hayward Ainsworth Florent Khamis Chesser Reidy is what’s desperately needed
Look at our list by end of trade period. Kids such as Moir Wilson BCampo LCampo Lord HOK HOF Dean Ison Jagga Carroll Lord Duffy Flynn Monahan Charleson need that support to get better. Out of 44 that is a lot of youth
Walsh Weitering McKay Saad Williams Cerra Cripps Hewett Haynes Acres Ollie Cowan will be the core of our side. We need 20 plus players fighting for the rest of the spots. Something we haven’t had for 30 years
I dont get Khamis either. As cheap depth maybe but not for a low-mid 2nd rounder which the dogs reportedly want.Acres in the coee of our side in 2026?
Thought he was going?
I don't get Khamis pick up.
Nor Florent.
But if you are confident Soapy, I'll keep trying to be.
Shufffling the same level of player in and out id club doesn't do much to instill confidence...just comstant messing eith tesm chemistry and relationships.
Still, a few exciting pick ups. No doubt.
I have reservations about ZW, not in terms of ability but availability. His injury history for me... that's where additions of Ainsworth, potential Hayward, and hopefully over his ankle injury Chesser, plus Jagga Smith into side, give me more hope going into our forward 50...Zac Williams absolutely MUST play HHF if we want decent delivery.

Seeing Charlie go is the saddest thing for me. I tend to back players over coaches. Charlie has brought me so much happiness over the years where we haven't had much.I dont get Khamis either. As cheap depth maybe but not for a low-mid 2nd rounder which the dogs reportedly want.
Hes not proper KPP size either. If we want 3rd tall depth back and forward, plus the ability to play as an undersized KPP, McGovern is a far far better player.
If we delist him rather then sign on a cheap contract, and go out and pay up for Khamis, I feel we are just punishing Gov for under performing on past deals, which makes no sense
If Dean gets an early pick than there is every chance that pick 11 blows out to about 15.Not sure how many list spots we are going to have?
Pick 10 and 11 in this draft is appealing. I wouldn’t be trading into next year or trying to get up the order.
I expect Dean to be bid and lose one of those picks but there could even be a chance he isn’t bid on and we get 2 picks before him.
Players that appeal in that range and/ or fill needs
Robey
Shubert
Dovasten
Lindsay
Grij
Just not sure we’d have list spots for potentially 1 or 2 of them + Dean and Ison?
Not sure of brining in both Florent or Baku and not have a spot for one of the above
Late 1st round picks are a graveyard. Worst picks to have as they carry decent value (being 1st round picks) so its bad when you stuff them up but they are really tough to nail.If Dean gets an early pick than there is every chance that pick 11 blows out to about 15.
That’s the ~19th best talent is a poor draft.
Adds a lot of depth and it fills in those long missing forward line pieces. Adds a bit of pace as well. So looking forward to Dean and O'Farrell hitting their straps in this team. All of a sudden the list and team looks good. What comes after this? I think the only glaring hole is in the middle. Perhaps wing but definitely that other quick damaging onballer to pair with Walsh.Adding Hayward Ainsworth Florent Khamis Chesser Reidy is what’s desperately needed

Wouldn’t it be more realistic to target Doveston or Hibbins Hargreaves this draft, instead of trading up the order for another mid?We are going to need a miracle from somewhere is the realistic answer. A late pick who turns into a star, Betts or Garlett's boys coming in and being guns from day dot, a star free agent we can front load the crap out of... It's going to be tough going.
Reality is we need to somehow pick up a young KPF for the future while navigating Dean, Ison and Walker bids all while addressing the midfield too. The small forward void will probably be behind those in the grand scheme of priorities but we'll have to wait until 2027/28 before we get a genuine look at having a decent set of picks to have a real go at some imo.
As I said, I think we'll need a minor miracle to occur to compete with the likes of Brisbane, GWS etc and their small/medium forward fleets.Wouldn’t it be more realistic to target Doveston or Hibbins Hargreaves this draft, instead of trading up the order for another mid?
Other than Bailey next year, the free agent cupboard is pretty bare and the father sons you mentioned are years away.
Even if we took a few late picks or rookies, at least we are having a crack and hopefully we do
