One thing Charlie is NOT is accountable.

I admit that I have criticized Charlie this season for his lack of effort.
I just wonder if not having a preseason, having minor surgery and not being 100% fit had anything to do with that.

First off lets just say we got a Gulden (23) or Butters (24) - they could impact immediately and still be impacting in 8-10 years - that still fits our list profile just doesn't push us off into the never never of always waiting for our list to mature.

Secondly I don't believe we are as far of as people think - we desperately need outside runners who use the ball well - but if we plug in Newman, Walsh, Smith, Cottrell and a Butters/Gulden type recruit suddenly our outside run is improved dramatically (before you get to improvement from Carroll, Cowan & co). It is also massively under rated on here just how much we missed Harry because TDK and Harry were simply not able to give us the contested mark option that gave our defenders an out as we came out of defence - someone who at worst meant the ball was knocked out of bounds rather than an opposition mark

Gulden would be the best case scenario. Exactly what we need. Like I said, I think it'll be very difficult, I can't even recall player for player trades at this level happening...

Time will tell I suppose...

Firstly, it is not an excuse, simply a thought. hence the 'I wonder' comment.
Secondly, I dont work for or at the club so I have no Fing idea what goes on there behind the scenes.
Thirdly, having one or two games in the season "where it looks like he cares" is entirely irrelevant to my post.

Ever thought that being "able to look like he cares" lasted all of 2 weeks before he was forced to go into surgery?

It is almost impossible to believe that despite having surgery (on his ankle and then again on his knee )in the pre-season (missing the start and the end) and surgery again before the end of the season he was fully fit in between

People forget Charlie is shorter than Cripps - without Mckay taking the big defender and preventing him being double teamed his life becomes very hard - throw in the lack of pre-season and niggling injury robbing him of his ability to cover the ground and it is a nightmare

We must be bold. Something significant must change...

If that means selling one of our guns, so be it...

For me, it's Charlie... northern beaches of Sydney are bloody beautiful...

We must be bold. Something significant must change...

Here is another question - when you watch the football how much of Charlie's game do you actually see? Do you watch him solely or do you just see the last couple of seconds of every contest where the ball was in his vicinity? That is to say - do you know how much work he has done before you start giving him your attention?
