Thinking deeper on Raz and Cincm it's these types that almost always get cut first when a team no longer believes they're in a window.

Older players - 29 and 28 respectively - who are fringe players at best and who lack the upside of younger prospects who need game time in order to progress.

This is an indicator to me that were going into a longer term reset regardless of whether or not we move on any of our stars.

I'm still disappointed that Lemmey didn't earn an opportunity. I don't watch the VFL nearly as closely as others do but was he really that far back from earning s chance when our season was over so esrly? Or did they stamp his papers ss early as I thought they may have?

Either way we're probably 2 young developing talls short at the very least

Sorry to intrude..but Lemmey sacking means there is a zero chance Curnow gets traded. Absolutely zero.
Harry is an ongoing slight risk (mental battles) so no way you would have sacked Lemmey if there was even a 1% chance of CC leaving.
Just an opinion.
Im a big Charlie fan.
Peace.

Copium.

If the club didn't see Lemmey as an AFL key forward then it doesn't factor into their McKay-Curnow considerations whatsoever.

It means we'll consider key forward options.

Maybe we get McDonald as part of the Swans trade.

Hardly copium..
CC will now stay.

I want Fogarty gone as he has been gifted games for a long time now. Just so we dont say oh we have nothing else so we play him. Durdin on thin ice too. He has skills but doesnt do enough. But i would keep him for one more year but put him on notice.

Having Fogarty and Boyd contracted for another year isn't one of Nick Austin's finest moments.

Neither would get a game at any other AFL club. None. How Fogarty continued to be named every week was staggering.

He averaged 11 disposals, 3 tackles & 0.6 goals a game in 2024 as a small forward.
This year? Those stats are almost identical.

Bizarre.

At this stage it's a rebuild right?
Lists have to be changed every year because players are getting older and better options become available in younger player or younger players just aren't going to make it...if a CLub does nothing - that is when you should be worried.

Not trying to be fancy or anything but it's more a reset than a rebuild. A full rebuild is what we embarked on under Bolton, what North/West Coast have tried to do and also Richmond last year. Even if Curnow does move on I don't think it rises to that level as long as we can keep our other elite senior players (Weitering/McKay/Walsh/Cripps) and don't get fleeced in any Charlie deal.

From last year it was clear that Austin took a more long-term view on things. Smith over Houston being a main part of that but also the moving on of experienced injury prone depth options for youth.

We have quite a bit of quality youth on the list so I don't think we need to go on a Richmond style rebuild to "bounce back". There are some young players ready to take over the roles of declining older players. We just need to fill some gaps across the list especially around speed and footskills and once again hope we can keep our good players on the park.

Liam Reidy wouldn’t be anywhere near our top 35 players
Khamis is probably 22-25 which isn’t saying much.
I want depth players from other clubs but depth players that come straight into our 23 every week not if we have a injury crisis
Don’t waste money on these players. There are better options out there that are specific for a role in the team

Khamis has played 31 games for the Dogs over the last two years and has been good depth for them. So don't see why he wouldn't be for us in a couple of roles. Reidy would be a 2nd or even 3rd ruck likely for us unless he really impresses. Not supposed to be game changing moves.

Silvagni Fantasia Cincotta

Lot of pressure on the Camporeale boys now.
Why? A mid and a wing, as opposed to a tall defender, a small fwd and a tagger.

Also consider worth considering the last two years we got 55 out of a possible 141 games from those 3…

Edit: missed the Italian comment at first…
