Don't worry guys, we're getting Reidy, Buku and Chesser.

The goal is to win our first VFL title first and then after that go for the AFL title. It's called a Carlton style reset with small incremental goals.

Question for draft experts - If it is band 2 for SOS, would that pick plus our current 2nd round pick be enough to cover a Top 10 Harry Dean bid without having to use the TDK compo pick?

Our "organic" 2nd round pick is with the Hawks this year, but we have Brisbane's. Assuming they finish 3rd, that's pick 34 as of today.

If the Jack compo is end of round 1, that is at best pick 21 (given TDK and OA would be before) and most likely later before the draft starts. Pick 34 would then be pick 37 (but would end up being later).

21 and 37 = 1018 points
12 is worth 1140, 1026 after 10% discount applied

I would assume/hope we'd trade the TDK compensation for a 2nd rounder this year and a future first (assuming FS isn't canned for Cody Walker).

If Walker was to be pick 1, under this year's system you'd need picks 8 and 10 to get the sufficient points to match.

Yep, always interested in who'll potentially be pulling on the navy blue...you only tend to get excited if it a big name.

Unfortunately for us this year, the outgoings have totally taken over the narrative.

So the latest according to the media is:

Campbell Chesser
Buku Khamis
Ned Reeves
Liam Reidy
Malcolm Rosas
Sam Flanders
Jack Petruccelli (DFA)

Am I missing anyone?
Fritsch was mentioned a bit earlier this year; not opposed to it if Charlie does go (and is replaced with an elite midfielder). Fritsch, Kemp, Moir and Harry is enough to not get destroyed aerially.

Essendon offering Zac bailey 6 years at 1.3 million

He's worth it but would mad to go there unless he wants to be rebuilding for the next 3-4 years.

Merret apart Don's best players are 18-21.

For those expecting or wanting a Band 1 compensation pick for JSOS, I wouldn't be holding my breath.

"While the length and value of the deal given to the third-generation Blue will be in the territory of band one compensation, Silvagni's age – he turns 28 later this year – will be part of the AFL's free agency formula.

No player in free agency history since it started in 2012 has garnered a first-round pick for the club they departed as a 10-year player. The player's age comes into the formula for compensation selections."

Also mentions in the article that the TANK has been offered a 1 year contract. Glad we get to keep our best small forward!

And in 12 months Zac Williams off the books too

Our cap at end of next year will be in the best shape it has been for a decade and ready to fire in time for Butters free agency.

With Jagga and likely Cody joining our midfield in next 12 months however, I suspect will be looking to land a key position big fish.

But I thought that Jack really really really really really really wanted to play with his great mate Dan Houston?
LMAO.
Thanks Steve!

This is bulldust.

Nothing confirmed from the club but it seems like Kemp, Haynes and Evans have new deals coming soon.

Leaves Motlop, McGovern, F.Young, White, Charleson and Monahan unsigned going into 2026.
