Yeah I reckon the football department should also be focused on creating this environment. Then maybe going for one or two to top up our talent in the years to come.

Thinking about it, I reckon that Petracca nominating GCS could work in our favour.
If Flanders is part of the deal going the other way, the Demons would naturally be asking for more coming back their way in the form of a 1st round pick.
GCS would of course baulk at that cos they need their 1st rounders for their academy boys. And that's where we step up to the plate. They can have Charlie and we'll also give them pick 20 to trade to the Demons - but in return we want Bailey Humphrey, their future 1st round pick, and some other goodies like Jake Rogers to sweeten the deal.

Latrell Pickett or Lachy Dovaston is who we need. Pickett has been dominating SANFL reserves. And LD just had a near best on performance in the CTL grand final.
We cant take Pickett with our second/end of first or use our pick before or after Dean for Dovaston.

You might be right, but I think If they prioritise Trac then a trade for CC is near on impossible. Very unlikely they let Humphries go.

Wouldn't pay anything in the top 15 for McDonald and would hope WCE wouldn't be stupid enough to either. Doesn't have 'it' as a KPF.

Maybe if they send Warner to WCE they'd get pick 1... but not McDonald...
If it wasn't for the crazy football bubble out there I imagine he'd probably agree.
If we really want a veteran stop gap KPD surely Frost is a better option than Jones? Pushed out of the seniors by the recruitment of Battle and Barrass but had a very good 2024.
This "football bubble" reason is BS, IMO.
