If it’s Sydney for Curnow, I’d much rather see Dattoli included in the deal than Florent.
Last thing we need is another plodder on a 4 year contract …

Not a clue who Datolli is or what he even looks like, but Florent is far from a plodder. Instantly improves the quality of our 22.![]()

Next years is off the charts. At this point the draft is underrated.
There is talent there.
But probably more boom bust prospects then usual and fewer rolled gold at the top

I really liked the Jagga move. 4-5-6 key core brilliant players and a great support cast including a couple of bloody Lesters up the back is what we need. So trading up for key is great.Next years is off the charts.
A lot of people criticised Austin for trading our first pick this year and to get Jagga. When you look at it now dosent seem like a bad move at all,we need future firsts for Cody which is imperative and unfortunately looks like the only way to get that is trading Charlie.
Florent isn't a midfielder. He plays off HB and can push onto a wing. I don't see the similarities to the names you listedDattoli ticks just about every box for Carlton.
With Cripps Hewett Cerra Lord Camporeale etc as one paced mids, the last thing we need is another 27yo of the same variety on a 4 year contract that might be borderline best 22 at a pinch.
Checkout Dattoli … you might be pleasantly surprised at what he offers![]()

What boxes are these that Dattoli fills?Dattoli ticks just about every box for Carlton.

There are some similarities however I think Florent is the better kick right now. I also think Hollands is more suited to a wing so both can play in the same teamFlorent is Ollie, just 4 years older.

Thats not going to happen and not should we want it. Would take Campbell or McInerney ahead of any of them. Plus the picks. So Hayward Florent and Dattoli, plus the picks?
Dattoli is a nuggety type along the lines of Lachie Fogarty with better kicking. No blistering speed, by no means an elite kick and his overhead game is overblown in that article at best. Don't even recall if I ever saw him do anything aerially beyond taking some stand still marks inside 50 above his head.
He was a good decision maker with elite hands in close but athletically he really didn't provide any point of difference to his team other than being tough over the ball.
If those are the traits we are desperately in need for then we'd be better off finding someone who actually provides them. Dattoli will likely end up playing as an inside mid in time just like he did juniors.
And while I am a fan Florent, the point still remains... He has no correlation to our inside mids. He doesn't play a role anything similar to them and his traits as an athlete are entirely different.
Kinnear Beatson's eye for talent has no bearing on what a player is actually like as a player. You’re entitled to your point of view.
But forgive me if I side with Kinnear Beatson and Sydney in their assessment of Dattoli on this one …
Yep. Everyone is as confused as each other with that quote from Ralphy. Is this correct? I thought you had to spend 95% of your cap minimum.
Jon Ralph saying saints have only paid 80% the last couple of seasons View attachment 2440370

Yeah, had queries on that (thought 92.5% was the MIN)Is this correct? I thought you had to spend 95% of your cap minimum.

Yep I think Ralph (unsurprisingly) has that very wrong. Only thing I could maybe think is they have been only using the 95% for multiple years. But I didn't think that it accumulated like that...Is this correct? I thought you had to spend 95% of your cap minimum.

Staying on the option of a former Northern lads would Green be a better option to ask for than Dattoli? Lose TDK, get Green?Kinnear Beatson's eye for talent has no bearing on what a player is actually like as a player.
Dattoli is a good young talent, but his strengths are around working in congestion and winning the ball. He's not going to walk into the Carlton side and fix our lack of pace or x-factor on the outside as he's simply not that kind of player.
I compared him to Lachie Neale in his draft year so by no means do I think he's a slouch.

You think this is asking too much lol. 2 bit part players and 1st.Hayward + McInerney + F1 for CC + F3?
