In other words TDK had to come up with reasons for joining on the spot that didn't start with $$$
Now bring in both ZB’s…please. The year is 2027... We've lost Curnow, JSOS and TDK leaving a war chest of cash to spend... We trade up to nab Sullivan Robey with the picks left behind as well as matching a bid on Dean + Ison whilst also bringing in the experienced bodies of Florent and Hayward.
Zac Bailey or Zak Butters as a free agent in 2026 with all the spare cash... Would not mind the look of this team whatsoever.
Nic Newman - Jacob Weitering - Harry Dean
Ollie Florent - Harry O'Farrell - Lachie Cowan
Sam Walsh - Patrick Cripps - Campbell Chesser
Liam Reidy - Jagga Smith - Sullivan Robey
Zac Bailey - Hudson O'Keefe - Zac Williams
Ashton Moir - Harry McKay - Will Hayward
Adam Cerra - Cody Walker - Matthew Carroll - Jack Ison - Frank the Tank
St Kilda spin. Only reason anyone would mention the 'bayside lifestyle' is because they're trying to reinvent themselves as the South East suburbs version of Geelong.
I think he might be.. I can’t recall him having a whinge because Rhylee wasn’t get a game a few years agoAlso, I assume his dad Scott isn't a complete tosser like another father-son combo I can think of.

In regard to EH I love him skill hardness had a huge smile when he signed my 7 year olds jersey but people change small amounts over a long period.Sounds about right but interesting that Hayward was quoted today saying he would be happy to be part of a trade. That's no coincidence.
So swap Florent for Hayward in that deal.
I also hope EH gets another chance somehow... by all reports he's already been given the boot though I think??
And I still think it's more likely Curnow remains at Carlton. Not against him leaving as his knee is looking like it's going to limit him for the rest of his career - just a matter of by how much. Took about 50% off him this year.
The most overpaid player in the history of the game.In other words TDK had to come up with reasons for joining on the spot that didn't start with $$$
But if you were on $1.8m a year would be ok…I live in Bayside, ain't no way anybody is talking up the $28 avocado on toast prices for a regulation cafe in Brighton
I don't see it happening. Teams will be holding on to those picks as strongly as they have in years. I also can't see Swans F1 being close to 8-12 if they have Curnow.
Melbourne would feast on that offer, and Essendon wouldn't do the other deal. Your projections are nonsense. What are the players moving in these scenarios alongside? Are we getting anyone in other than the draftees?
You're cashing out of not one, but 3 first rounds in pursuit of Dean and Walker. Go outside and get some air please.
Probably but with Darcy expecting BF a big pay rise the $ would be getting pretty thin at the KennellDon’t think Rylee would leave especially if his brother Levi probably getting drafted next year I think

Don’t succumb to the pressure, Tom.

If you can’t trade down then that means another club can’t trade up.I think you are ignoring the problem though. It’s better for everyone if GC have to match Uwland with say pick 6 and 13 than 5 picks in the mid second round. It takes two top end picks out of the draft. It means West Coast for example have two higher quality players to pick from at pick 15 and again at 21. This is the whole reason for the changes not about the team matching bids. I think you are only looking at it from the team who has the FS or academy player, which should really be the least important player in the whole thing considering they can actually make the choice to match or not.
It’s pretty simple though. If you can’t trade down very close to the pick a bid is made at then you aren’t paying market value.
On the back of TDK's comments today, Marshall has officially requested a trade to Geelong & they have pretty much told Steele to look elsewhere.TDK has got to sell the sunny side.
Hardly going to say "These blokes offered me stupid coin"
Doesn't make any sense how tight knit the Saints are when they just knifed the captain

This pretty much rules out Geelong from the Curnow hunt.
Yes to be expected paying so much for one player who is not a elite player by any stretch.Happy club it seems
Why do we want teams trading up? That benefits one side, it achieves absolutely nothing. It doesn’t help the worst teams get the best talent. If you can’t trade down then that means another club can’t trade up.
As a system, you don’t want intervention to restrict trade, or to skew the market. It will work much better if you set the market (with DVI), and then let clubs work it out amongst themselves.
Gold Coast won’t be able to match Uwland with 5 picks in the mid second round. There won’t be enough points (or trades) for them.
TDK aka Issy II now…or IF2Israel Falou says![]()
If he played like a $1.8m ruck we’d have offered it.Listening to TDK on the afl website sounds like he’s taking a swipe at us.I suppose can’t blame him.
We also live in a world where our recruitment staff have a strike rate as good as Ray Charles would have playing baseball. What parallel universe are you living in where the AFL does anything to be fair to Carlton? After the best part of a decade in the bottom 4 our additional assistance was A) ridiculously late and B) completely inadequate.
Free agency compensation for Jarrad Waite was what? Zero. 120+ goals for North over 4 years.
We get our first top 3 father son on the horizon and immediately the AFL starts looking at scrapping the rule for 1st round for the first time ever... must be a coincidence right?
We live in a world where if we aren't getting completely reamed by the AFL we have to be grateful.

When we play St.Kilda next year, I want one of out players to go up to Vossy and ask him.... would you be OK with me giving away a free kick before the siren sounds?
