Walsh and 'neat disposal' are borderline oxymoronic...Ison has exceptional ball use. Great at picking out targets, especially inside 50s.
Jagga is an excellent decision maker, but more along the Walsh neat disposal style than laser sharp delivery.
Are there any updates at all on Walsh's contract negotiations?
Any chance this will be done and dusted in the off-season?
He reminds me so much of the Durdin pick who I actually loved but for some reason it never fully clicked for him after a promising start. Hopefully it does for TalorWatching the Talor Byrne edits.... what a completely non-Carlton type pick this is. He's just a natural footballer with an un-AFL physique. Yet we picked him anyhow. Something has changed this year for sure. I will assume GW influence but who knows but one thing is for sure he would never have gotten a lookin at Carlton at any time in the past 5-10 years.
For the record - Byrne one of my favourite draftees in the past 5 years. We normally try to draft greyhounds. This guy is a pitbull.

Talk up his value for the compensation pick when he goes FA?Walsh is doing a lot of camera time for a guy without a contract
We'll be compensated well if he leaves. Probably have a war chest that can deliver Cody and Butters.Walsh is doing a lot of camera time for a guy without a contract
Question is, will Butters want to come if Walsh leaves? Walshy leaving would probably come off the back of a poor season. We'll be compensated well if he leaves. Probably have a war chest that can deliver Cody and Butters.

I'm with ya on that. He looks like the stereotypical Collingwood recruit, complete with the sleeve tattoos within a couple of years.Watching the Talor Byrne edits.... what a completely non-Carlton type pick this is. If we pick up Lij as a rookie, and Walsh is made captain next year, I don't think he's leaving.
We need someone out there who is just a touch late and 'clumsy' with the spoil. Missed it from Newman this year as well.I'm with ya on that. He looks like the stereotypical Collingwood recruit, complete with the sleeve tattoos within a couple of years.
If his back goes again, it might be early retirement rather than moving to another club.If his back goes again, all bets are off...
unless we are trading him, our FA compo pick will be 19, the pick after our natural pickSurely a Sam Walsh compo pick would be Pick 1.
But heās Sam Walsh. So Iād rather have him for the next 8 years.
We know cats very much into him but the elephant in the room is Tassie.Talk up his value for the compensation pick when he goes FA?

I know we can't tell much from outside the club but everything I hear about Walsh gives me the impression he's staying. If not I think we'd be able to easily match Cats offers anyway so it won't go to compo.
Option b after 2 mill for DaicosWe know cats very much into him but the elephant in the room is Tassie.
Luckily for us the Cats don't include their off the books payments in a FA bid so we'd have no issues matching the bid and politely telling them to **** off with their shite offer just as we did this year with Curnow.tbh, I'd rather get a compo pick next year than the "three first round picks" they'd offer up...
How about we show some patience. I for one donāt want to give Walshy a massive contract for Christmas to have him go down with the same complaint and miss half of the season. It works a little both ways. There is plenty of water to go under the bridge.Great another selfish player is going to derail our season. The media will make sure of it. He will be talked about and asked about. Team mates will be asked. Just great...... For all Walshs tough talk about leadership and no bull. He needs to put his talk into actions and make a statement.
