Re:compo, FA is being discussed as being introduced after pick#10, so it could become a match & trade offer for the high-end FAās to get value for the departed.I really don't care who leaves or stays.
As long as the club has some warning to plan ahead, and we get well compensated with draft picks or players of need.
Not sure if we predicted losing Charlie, SOS and TDK in 1 off season, but the compo was pretty fair.
If Walsh is having itchy feet, then communicate that to the club.
A little concerned with the carefree nature and the growing of the locks, no idea what heās thinking about his contract with the hippy vibeā¦
If his demeanour is anything like when he reappeared at the end of ā25, I want to see that (bearing fitness/availability mind you) on display F/T. Game & player leadership in spades with some outstanding football. Good for player, team and club and wins will hopefully be a byproduct and re-signing.
It just sticks out because we're not used to it. Doesn't mean anything.A little concerned with the carefree nature and the growing of the locks, no idea what heās thinking about his contract with the hippy vibeā¦
That's 1 way of protecting the lower placed clubs, providing the high end free agents aren't being poached from these very clubs.Re:compo, FA is being discussed as being introduced after pick#10, so it could become a match & trade offer for the high-end FAās to get value for the departed.

Was taking the p155ā¦It just sticks out because we're not used to it. Doesn't mean anything.
Cooper Lord has had the full mullet ever since he joined the list, but nobody thinks he lacks commitment or whatever because of his hair.
Ha, fair enough! Was taking the p155ā¦
Just means heās got very poor taste in style!
Though I agree with Monty B on the sideburns!
TDK definitely left for the money. If someone comes to you and offers a base of 1.65m/year plus incentives youāre taking it. TDK could have done a Henderson and walked out on the club with a few games left, but he wanted his kids to play for Carlton, so he hit his 100. If the Saints offer had only been 100k off our offer to him, he would have stayed. But they aren't leaving for more money.
They are leaving for success and because we haven't given them enough reasons to stay.
It's hard to talk about loyalty to the jumper after Walsh himself took less money on his last contract to 'help keep the team together' then watched the club unceremoniously dump all our depth (and his mates) and end up with a thin and uncompetitive list. He's also watched the club sack a coach 6 months into his career, then the next one two years later, and we could well be onto a fourth at some point this year. The guy who drafted him, a club legend, got sacked 12 months later and hasn't been back to the club since. All of the players from his draft class have been delisted except for him. We have had two fitness guys in his time and sacked both. Even the President got sacked for putting his junk on social media. Meanwhile, he's seen the 'fans' line the player race to hurl abuse at players during a bad game on multiple occassions, seen the way they social media turns on stars like Docherty as soon as their form drops off (coming back from an ACL no less, but that didn't get him any slack). There's no loyalty at Carlton.
If, as seems likely, we drop further off the pace this year, sack another coach and head deeper into the draft, why would Walsh stay? He has been at the club 7 years so far, has never been in a team that won 14 games, and we are likely starting again with another coach and a bunch of young guys he barely knows?
If Geelong come knocking and offer him good money, a chance at success and a house and land package near Torquay, of course he will listen.
About the only thing we can offer other than actually playing some improved footy is the captaincy, which I guess isn't nothing.
Although, ultimately they should all be welcome back as former players.TDK definitely left for the money. If someone comes to you and offers a base of 1.65m/year plus incentives youāre taking it. JSOS might be saying he left for more success, but honestly, he left for more money as well. The club offered him what he was worth. This was reflected in the offers from Collingwood and Footscray. They offered the same money and an extra year. Then the Aintās rolled in and dropped more money on the table and he was off. If he truely loved Carlton like he claims, he would have signed off to stay at the club when Collingwood and Footscray tabled their offers. I reckon his old man told him to hold off re-signing and got gubby to put together a package and the rest is history.
Charlie is the only one who left for success. He didnāt care where he ended up so long as the club was pushing for success. And surprisingly he ended up at Sydney instead of Geelong. Itās going to be interesting for him chasing success at a club thatās starting to fade and has a coach who is only half as good as his predecessor. He ECOād on the club back in May. And his manager was shopping him to Geelong. And Geelong couldnāt be bothered to put a serious offer for him on the table.
And then there is Durds. He didnāt want to leave either, but the club must have seen a touch of homesickness and wanting to be closer to his sister and facilitated that. We got Ben Ainsworth and pick 67, Port got Durdin and out 2026 second round pick and GCS got pick 29.
Out of the 4 players who left, the only two id be happy seeing back at the club in the future would be TDK and Durds. Anyone booing them should cop a slap to the back of the head. JSOS and Charlie⦠fill ya boots.
For me TDK is fair game. It is no more noble leaving a club you apparently love for money than what it is to leave a club where you are unhappy.TDK definitely left for the money. Absolutely love Durds, and was sad when he got traded back to SA. Understandable though with his family situation. For me TDK is fair game. It is no more noble leaving a club you apparently love for money than what it is to leave a club where you are unhappy.
Everyone has their own reasons, booing for me is just abit of fun anyway.
Iām one of the very few who seems to rate Durdin (to an extent) still so I would find booing him abit strange.

The Aints are paying him on his potential and they are hoping that they can help him realise that potential. I'm putting money on Skull becoming a better ruckman than TDK.TDK is one of the most over hyped players in AFL history....
Wont be hard for him to beat TDK the forward. TDK never really produced forward at AFL level. The Aints are paying him on his potential and they are hoping that they can help him realise that potential. I'm putting money on Skull becoming a better ruckman than TDK.
I never saw it myself. And I'm pretty sure that if didn't look like a taller Thor, he wouldn't get a tenth of the attention he does.TDK is one of the most over hyped players in AFL history....
At which point the āAinters pay him 4m x 15 years to replace TDKThe Aints are paying him on his potential and they are hoping that they can help him realise that potential. I'm putting money on Skull becoming a better ruckman than TDK.

Totally fairI can actually say I have never booād a player. But I can also say, I have booād this chump a plenty

The 50 metre penalty he paid against Samo to gift the Eagles a goal when we were all over them in 2020 is forever etched in my memory.I can actually say I have never booād a player. But I can also say, I have booād this chump a plenty

If Iād been at the ground that day I reckon this umpire would have had something permanently etched his head forever from me.
