Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
I have a nagging feeling too, but I don't watch Melbourne closely.Feel like a lot of people are setting themselves up for disappointment with McVee.
Like you I am unconvinced about him becoming a defender. The potential is there. But HBF is a good position to begin a journey at the next level.Maybe, but if he plays in defense he needs to do more than that as he would be the 'small' defender.
It would be somewhat ironic if this does happen and we end up using the future fourth round on Lucas Robinson, who is shaping up to have very similar pros and cons to Brodie.
The fact that you made this comparison just confirms you haven't watched Robinson play.It would be somewhat ironic if this does happen and we end up using the future fourth round on Lucas Robinson, who is shaping up to have very similar pros and cons to Brodie.

He will most certainly do that and much more. All I want from McVee is someone who can defend when it's their turn to contest, attack when there's an opening and kick the ball well enough that it's not just a long one down the line.
OR perhaps, just hear me out here, the trade was lazy and dogshit...We could have done that trade and there is no guarantee that 34 and 37 would net us 23/24.
We do know that Melbourne wanted to keep McVee and we do know Pyke said that they would look at having a crack at McVee. Perhaps we felt best to get the deal done early. Maybe we felt best not to put McVee through the stress and just get the deal done.
Brisbane are likely talking smack but still hold out hope that they can convince Cal Ah Chee to stay.
The scramble to create new more abstract scenarios is real.OR perhaps, just hear me out here, the trade was lazy and dogshit...
Why are you still sooking about his sookingWhy are you still sooking about this? It’s over a done with. Stop throwing a hissey fit and move on. **** me dead
The moment it went down it looked and smelt like a shit trade, now we know it tastes like one too.OR perhaps, just hear me out here, the trade was lazy and dogshit...
Take a look at the thread you are in and you might clue onto why its being discussed...Why are you still sooking about this? It’s over a done with. Stop throwing a hissey fit and move on. **** me dead
Because it was dumb as **** at the time and every day that passes is making it dumber. Why are you still sooking about this? It’s over a done with. Stop throwing a hissey fit and move on. **** me dead
You don’t think I haven’t heard you out… yes it wasn’t a great deal. Yes we should have got better return for the picks 34, 45, 51. At some point you need to move on.OR perhaps, just hear me out here, the trade was lazy and dogshit...
Nah, had enough of people sooking about perfectly calm discussion on the only thing Freo have done in trade period. Half of it is just having a laugh. Why are you still sooking about this? It’s over a done with. Stop throwing a hissey fit and move on. **** me dead
Finally, now I just need to annoy about 15 other posters into submission =)I promise I won’t ever again try to make a justification for the trade.
All I want is an alternative kick in strategy from “Luke Ryan kicks it down the broadcast side wing to a contest”All I want from McVee is someone who can defend when it's their turn to contest, attack when there's an opening and kick the ball well enough that it's not just a long one down the line.
Maybe.
Lucas looks far superior over head though
Got me. Even though I have made my peace it was a s*#t deal. Without justifying it, there does seem an element of let’s get it done. Finally, now I just need to annoy about 15 other posters into submission =)

He wants to play for the CrowsAre we interested in Ah Chee, seems to have stalled with Adelaide? 10 goals in finals sounds pretty juicy. I would suggest 20 and 47 to Essendon for 27 and 30 might turn their heads. 27/30 to Brisbane seems to be trumping Adelaide's best offer.
Yes agree that Robinson's overhead ability is a significant point of difference from Brodie, but I am just not sure how that difference will play out in terms of draftability as I don't think he (say) is a resting forward, or suits a half-back position (and so far I have not seen him play as either), because I am not convinced Robinson yet has the skill level by foot to really hurt in either. I actually think Brodie is a bit better by hand offensively; they are both good at positioning and decision making in close. I think Brodie would be faster by foot as well; I
Having said that, I also want to emphasize (which I didn't do in my original comment - my apologies) that overall that there is plenty of time for things to change around and hopefully we get to see Robinson in positions other than just a centreman and also improving his kicking.
Lucas is not a one position player. He regularly played CHF when resting and would also have the occasional stint in defence when required.Yes agree that Robinson's overhead ability is a significant point of difference from Brodie, but I am just not sure how that difference will play out in terms of draftability as I don't think he (say) is a resting forward, or suits a half-back position (and so far I have not seen him play as either), because I am not convinced Robinson yet has the skill level by foot to really hurt in either. I actually think Brodie is a bit better by hand offensively; they are both good at positioning and decision making in close. I think Brodie would be faster by foot as well; I have not seen enough of Robinson to judge whether he is better defensively than Brodie.
Ultimately the risk with both players (and the reason I compared them - my apologies wakojako if you felt offended by the suggestion) are that they are one position players, and I think there is a lot of emphasis placed by recruiters on how many potential positions people can play when it comes to the draft.

The second element was Brisbane delisting Robinson so WC can pick him up as a rookie in the SSP and thus not burn a list spot, it didn’t benefit Freo in the slightest.Got me. Even though I have made my peace it was a s*#t deal. Without justifying it, there does seem an element of let’s get it done.
I still live in hope there is a second element to it but that seems unfounded.
Clearly I mean a second component that benefits Freo not WC.The second element was Brisbane delisting Robinson so WC can pick him up as a rookie in the SSP and thus not burn a list spot, it didn’t benefit Freo in the slightest.
