What will happen is Brisbane will match Annable. It will cost 16, 22 + one of their later picks.

They will then grab 19 off us for a F1 and some of those unused later picks: 43, 44, 50, 55, 67, 78

Can’t do that, can they? I thought they can’t trade for the same pick back from the same club they originally traded it too?

AFL tightened the rules after some other club (Sydney?) did it previously? Or have I dreamt all this?

We were spooked for sure. Hasleby kept saying they must be in a hurry for something. I guess they had a handle on what other possibilities they had and this was the best one. He is rapt to have Mcvee and still have a pick in the first round (barely). It's the stuff we did around the edges that seem incomprehensible.

If we have no further moves of consequence, McVee's manager said WC are offering life changing money, we caved and I think it was the right decision.

Dogshite trade in isolation but in the greater context, if we go into preseason unchanged having lost our spiritual leaders in Fyfe and Walters, our on field leaders will 100% have the right to question whether the club is doing it's part to improve the list, thus opening the door for parasitic managers to turn their heads to greater opportunites/paydays.

Make no mistake, WC knows we are firmly in the pack of teams 2 to 10 chasing Brisbane. Their desire to see us not win a flag is as much a priority for them as improving their list.
