For mcveeIn a shit draft? Doesn’t make sense
I saw Sandi at the shops the other day. I recon he could still go around in an emergency, he hasn't gotten shorter.Does Spider Burton have any kids?
This. Each year the team that 'won' trade week is ususually the team that sucked that season and has high draft picks that they then went on to use for best available. Feels more like peddling hope to the supportersLet West Coast win trade week, I want to win games of footy next year!

Soft if they were already planning they had to pay more than an existing 2nd rounderFor mcvee
Pick 19 for Brisbane’s F1 and what ever else is left over from the bid matching?Apparently Brisbane are hoping to trade back into the first round, AFTER they match a bid on Annable which no doubt now won’t come until pick 4 or 5 at least.
I can only laugh at this stage at how absurd it all is

Assuming it comes throughThat was my suspicion and call.
We’re merely holding 19 for them.
Can’t do that, can they? I thought they can’t trade for the same pick back from the same club they originally traded it too? What will happen is Brisbane will match Annable. It will cost 16, 22 + one of their later picks.
They will then grab 19 off us for a F1 and some of those unused later picks: 43, 44, 50, 55, 67, 78
Better draft next year (supposedly)Isn’t given them 19 for a future first just giving this year’s first away for nothing.
Could end up being 19 for 19, what’s the point in that
Maybe just don’t rate this year and prefer having two firsts next year in the case that Robinsons trajectory stays going up?Isn’t given them 19 for a future first just giving this year’s first away for nothing.

What's the negativity about Whan?
Yeah that’s what I thought too. Can’t do that, can they? I thought they can’t trade for the same pick back from the same club they originally traded it too?
AFL tightened the rules after some other club (Sydney?) did it previously? Or have I dreamt all this?
Was a blissful two seconds, no doubtYeah that’s what I thought too.
Oh well was nice imagining a positive outcome for this trade for a few seconds

Oh yeah, I thought it was WCs pick in my head, no, its Brisbane. Back to meltingWas a blissful two seconds, no doubt
Pretty sure AFL has parameters that block trading back your own pickPick 19 for Brisbane’s F1 and what ever else is left over from the bid matching?
Maybe that’s why it looks so bad.
Perhaps this is part two of our unfavourable trade.Apparently Brisbane are hoping to trade back into the first round, AFTER they match a bid on Annable which no doubt now won’t come until pick 4 or 5 at least.

Did the pick trades happen on draft night?Pretty sure AFL has parameters that block trading back your own pick
Thanks to Sydney and west coast a few years back
Edit: this has been raised already
It looked like he realised he shouldnt have said it on camera and then covered his arse by saying "he's already on Freo's list".Who does Pickering manage from Freo?
SA boys only
He leaked that brierty is going to see someone in Adelaide but then tried to cover it up saying it's one of his Freo boys but wouldn't name who
If he manages no SA boys at Freo, who are Pickering's players at crows/port
We were spooked for sure. Hasleby kept saying they must be in a hurry for something. I guess they had a handle on what other possibilities they had and this was the best one. He is rapt to have Mcvee and still have a pick in the first round (barely). It's the stuff we did around the edges that seem incomprehensible.Soft if they were already planning they had to pay more than an existing 2nd rounder
BingoIf we have no further moves of consequence, McVee's manager said WC are offering life changing money, we caved and I think it was the right decision.
Dogshite trade in isolation but in the greater context, if we go into preseason unchanged having lost our spiritual leaders in Fyfe and Walters, our on field leaders will 100% have the right to question whether the club is doing it's part to improve the list, thus opening the door for parasitic managers to turn their heads to greater opportunites/paydays.
Make no mistake, WC knows we are firmly in the pack of teams 2 to 10 chasing Brisbane. Their desire to see us not win a flag is as much a priority for them as improving their list.
We are on a tight rope now, we need to improve our bottom 7 every year and lose none of our first 16.
Everyone saying "McVee nominated us he wouldn't go to West Coast" know that is complete bullshit

Pickering manages two project rucks in Oscar Steene and Harry Boyd who are SA lads, who are on AFL lists (Collingwood and Saints) and are behind number one rucks at their respective clubs.
With Reidy going, Brierty might be doing some due dilligence.
I can't fathom a reason why he'd be stopping in at Port Lincoln to see Duds when he'd seen him a week ago at the B&F.
