I'd argue he missed a game because of the funeral, but he misses games (plural) because of a less than desirable focus on his professionalism.

Which rips my confidence in him returning to preseason training in elite shape away.

Agree i understand miss a game because of a funeral but he has been given a chance at a career. He is already out of shape for a footballer, so its concerning. What is interesting is that him missing games between the funeral and being naughty was smack bang in the middle of his extension, so i hope he didn't get excited of the security and celebrate too hard

Just on the Judd McVee trade, current options of players running out of defence (exl Clark and he can’t continue to do it himself) are Banners, Walker and Worner. I have absolutely no faith in any of them.

I know many in here will come into bat for Chapman but let’s face it he doesn’t have the balls to pull the trigger. I still have a candle lit for Simpson. Think he could be an important cog in that back 6.

Can’t watch another year of Banners in the backline or even the forward line. Needs to be shipped down to Mandurah immediately.

Massive upgrade on either Walker/Worner/Banners/Simpson.

What will happen is Brisbane will match Annable. It will cost 16, 22 + one of their later picks.

They will then grab 19 off us for a F1 and some of those unused later picks: 43, 44, 50, 55, 67, 78

There’s a reason they have grabbed 44 and 50.

If Annable is bid on at 3 it will cost 16, 22 and 43.

If he is bid higher it will cost more.

Now although Eagles probably have no intention to use pick 2 on Annable, there’s no guarantee they don’t trade it and hence the little bit of insurance with some extra points.

I still maintain something more will come of this initial deal.

If the forward averaging 27 goals a year the last four is the whipping boy we will do well. I think another line breaker off half back will directly correlate to Frederick having an even more career best season goal wise. Move the ball fast and he's out the back kicking an extra goal a game, hopefully an extra goal a quarter.

At Colts level nothing. At underage champs level he doesn't get enough of the ball for a midfielder and he looks like he's walking from contest to contest. That said I still rate him as a prospect.

Because the guy is 23? He's battled injury concerns and we all know how good he is at his best?

We're not going to write off a player in their early 20s, that's just weird.

Walker is a a bit iffy by foot, but he can be good for run and carry.

He had his first ever top 10 B and F finish this season while missing a game and being sub for another. The coaches are happy with what he's doing - what you call regression they call playing the role given.

I do think people are probably too hung up on the potential for him to play higher up the ground. It'd be a strange way to go about it to have him gradually play deeper and deeper before suddenly pulling the trigger for a wing move. But Chappy's shown a fair bit even with the role he's been restricted to.
