I heard a rumour that if you work for the AFC - you cannot make a bad decision or be bad at your job.

Anybody questioning the brilliant brains employed by the AFC is clearly an idiot. How could anyone think to criticize a club that has failed to make finals over the past 7 years. I mean only 44.4% of clubs each year make the finals so its pretty tough to do.

Yet not one person here could actually articulate anyones actual day to day role and the decisions they make on a daily basis. Its not defending the club, its called, taking a breath because at some stage you just have to trust that the club will get the next decision right. We have no clue if Milera is a bad decision. So instead of bitching and crying because they made a decision that goes against the narrative, trust the process.

I have bitched about Nicks for years and have been let down over and over by his extensions. But if we win a premiership, will I give a shit? NO!!!

But the commentary on here by a few is 'Our narrative is right, the club is always wrong until they arent' Remember when the narrative was Milera should be dropped and then he got 30 odd disposals. Yeah me too, that was just 3 games ago.

No ones saying dont discuss, but no need to get so offended when people suggest different narratives like the only one presented is fact and everything else is wrong.

What a garbage word salad.

Why should we trust the process when the process has led to us missing the finals the last 7 years? What bloody process are we trusting?

Why should we trust the process when we can all point out the numerous poor decisions the club has made?

Now sure - they do make good decisions as well and those should be applauded. But to say they know what they are doing and we should trust the process is laughable.

Remember when the narrative was that Murphy shouldn't play a game? We all said he was shit and that he didnt perform in the 4th quarter of any close games at all. But those geniuses knew better and sure enough Murphy came in, sucked, had 1 handball and 1 kick in the 4th quarter and we lost by a point and he was dropped the next week. Yeah I remember it too - it was 6 weeks ago.

You forget the most important part. "Garbage".

People can have an opinion that the Milera signing is a good one. I will happily and politely disagree.

But I think its ridiculous and idiotic when people say "trust the process" considering where our club has been for the past 7 years.

so you prefer to be angry every time there is a decision that goes against the bigfooty narrative? or was that too much of a word salad for you to follow?

I heard a rumour that the AFC have privately decided to follow bigfooty from 1st July and implement all their decisions as clearly some on Bigfooty know best.
About ****ing time

No - I prefer to not be happy with decisions I personally don't agree with and then voice them on here.

What I don't do is criticize Nicks all the time and then have a crack at other posters for criticizing the club because "they need to trust the process" and "they dont understand what the club employees do".

or was that too much of a word salad for you to follow?

That wasn't a word salad at all. It was just 2 sentences that are in-line with the rest of your terrible argument.

Not sure what year they are streaming over in Portugal but Wayne has only got 30 disposals twice in his career and hasn’t done it since 2023.

Kudos for engaging and picking apart ridiculous posting, what a crock of shit. **** he posts some rubbish

I just ask myself this question..'what would chris scott be able to do with our list?' And the answer in my head is he would be probably be our next premiership coach. Then i pinch myself and sigh and think we have this guy instead

Looking at those out of contract at seasons end. This is what I think the club will do, not what I would do

Will keep
Zac Taylor - Probably the next announcement
Lachlan McAndrew (pre-season supp) - I think we will keep as a backup.

Possible trade or keep depending on ruck moves
Reilly O'Brien

Retire
Taylor Walker
Brodie Smith

Delist
Kieran Strachan (inactive list) Might retire
Chris Burgess (R)
Harry Schoenberg (R)
Karl Gallagher (R, Cat B)

One of the below get a one year contract the other two are delisted
Matt Crouch
Lachlan Murphy
Huge Bond

What rubbish, nowhere did any of the draft watchers have Waneganeen-Milera ahead of Rachele even with Wanganeen-Milera's advantage of not missing a complete season of U18's football unlike Rachele who did due to Victoria;s Covid lockdown.

If Wanganeen_Milera was so obviously better than Rachele please explain how GWS (Finn Callaghan), Suns (Mac Andrew), Hawks (Josh Ward), Fremantle (Jye Amiss), Richmond (Josh Gibcus) and Fremantle (Niel Erasmus) were all selected before him. Rewriting history in hindsight after the draft doesn't work for recruiters only us boffins.
I'm not talking about in the draft, I'm talking about now. A miss is a miss, even if everyone makes it, same as many players over the years.

And I'm not sure callaghan and MacAndrews are below NAS, that's your opinion, the rest on your list clearly are in hindsight.

And draft watchers are irrelevant, it's the recruiting teams who hit or miss. Their job is to project talent not grade talent, but no one said that was easy.

Either way, I don’t see how it can be at all construed as a ‘miss’ if Rachele ends up the next best behind NWM of the first round selections taken within 10 selections after our own (I’d say he is the next best, currently)
Very true, Rach is coming very good, and id agree next best.

Getting the talent order wrong in a given, getting it wrong by one player is very good.

A club doing a rebuild didn't make the finals. What a ****ing shock.

I thought we were done with the rebuild starting with 2023 when the clubs expectation was finals.

And further to this - We bottomed out in 2020. Sydney were bottom 4 in 2019/2020 and have since made 2 Grand Finals.

Between 2019 - 2022 (4 seasons) Hawthorn won 3 more games than we did. Our rebuilds were eerily similar. They have won a final - we haven't.

Dockers got a new coach, rebuild identical to ours - they have won a final.
