1.Slow methodical ball movement, means more possessions.
2. That’s part of the problem
3. Is irrelevant if 2 is correct.
4. Hinge has done it 4 times in 70 games.
Well his M gained doesn’t stack up.

Just me or does the pressure acts stat graph seem hard to read?

Normally red = bad, orange = avg, green = good. Yet the way the arrow on the dial goes is normally left to right.

Yeah the colour is the wrong way around.

Graham Cornes says O'Brien deserves a contract because of "his effort and loyalty".

This attitude is why we suck.
If the good version of ROB turned up weekly then sure, but it doesn't.

Hasn't had an awful year, but if Rowan Marshall is available..... seeya ROB

...no we didn't
Correct - we were actually the 6th youngest & 6th least experienced team in 2020:
https://www.draftguru.com.au/lists/2020

This was a MASSIVE drop, in both age & experience, from 2019 - when we were the 2nd oldest and 3rd most experienced team in the competition:

It is accurate to say that Adelaide's rebuild started at the end of 2019, and that 2020 was thus the first season since the start of the rebuild.

We do provide reward for the past, whereas contracts should be purely about the future. No doubt we gave Milera 3 years because he’s done it tough with injury and so we rewarded him for that.

I remember John Reid talking about the retirements of 3 club greats and saying their departures would open up a heap of cap because they were all, “very well paid boys”. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done, your last year prior to retirement shouldn’t be described as “well paid”. It should be not too far from the minimum.

We’ve had our list management priorities backwards for a long time.

Many many years ago there was a lot of discussion on '' 1 year contracts '' for anyone over 30 with some saying it was good business and others saying you should reward those still playing good football

Then Sloane talked about a Loyalty package put in place by the AFL ie long term one club players should be outside the cap

Then we had the '' we dont want to lose them '' years where average players or promising players got long term contracts

And yet when these long term contracts became millstones due to injury it was ok

Our contract management is well out of skew and we need to get back to sound financial business

No surprise Reid is a former player manager

Bryce Cotton coming to the 36ers, hopefully it helps some players to come over to the crows.

Don’t disagree on the whole, but it’s not Reid. As a player manager, he’s perfect because he’s about himself, what’s in his best interests? It’s not building and overpaying for a shit list. The chair of the list management committee is Mark Ricciuto. Other known members are Reid, Tim Silvers, Matthew Nicks and Adam Kelly. It was reported that Neil Balme was added to the committee upon appointment. This is concerning.

Reality is that it’s not Reid making these decisions autocratically. The committee make the decisions and Reid’s paid job is to negotiate the best outcome following that call.

I’ve never understood the total and utter misunderstanding of Reid’s role and influence when it comes to comes to list decisions.

Current board member James Gallagher was recruited to be St Kilda list manager straight out of banking. They’re more an instrument than a brain.

Morris did follow up on that report saying it was most likely the Cats for Marshall
And Rowan's Family's farm is lovely scenic drive down the Great Ocean Road just out of Portland. ;)

I've had a look at the Cats list, they've got a strong young brigade of Rucks. Like 5 of them other then Stanley and Blicavs

but geelong being geelong, they take as many players as they can

This better ruckman you talk of?
season 5 GIF

You need to have a better look.

Toby Conway is their only really legitimate young ruck and he continues to have serious back and foot issues.

Mitchell Edwards continues to have serious back issues having played the grand sum of 3 VFL games in 2024 and zero so far this season.

Jacob Mollier a very speculative pick and miles off AFL at this point, currently out for a long spell.

Joe Pike is young but he looks a fair way off it regards AFL standard.
