1974 was the big flood on the Gold Coast it washed the whole surfers paradise beech away.
In typical Queensland fashion the pushed all the flooded car bodies into it and piled sand on top.

They probably have a clause in their tv contract about natural disasters/lockdowns etc imposed by government. Gets them off the hook money wise.

Every business decision ever made is about money, even when they're not about money, it's about money.
You clearly have a bee in your bonnet about the AFL (which is understandable), but try to understand that this isn't a decision to be made lightly.
The cyclone could continue East and the match played in perfect conditions, you don't abandon such an important fixture without full consideration to all factors.
Again, I think it should and will be cancelled, but completely understand the AFL taking their time to decide.

Looks likely.
Reckon the Suns/Bombers game is very unlikely too. In theory they could move it to Melbourne, but that would be very harsh on the GC players with friends and families left behind.
