the sub rule is stupid and should be removed, or another rule changed to make it work.
it was brought in in case a team had a player go down/concussion who could no longer play.
this morphed into a tactical sub, but everyone hated it and it was removed.
then it came back again.

if you go to 5 on the bench with no sub, you have the same issue as before where one side is down a player.

to make the sub more meaningful you either need to:
remove it again and everyone agrees that going down a player is tolerable
keep it but reduce the rotations by a lot, so bringing a player on tactically has an impact

however the afl has not made any meaningful/logicial decisions in years, so gfl with the sub

Whoever made the sub rule and allowed it to be kept this long in the game is an grade A moron. No one likes, players, coaches and fans. Nothing more cringe than watching a debutant playing a sub game.

Carr will be ruthless. He will have a hard edge just like the way he played. At least he will pay respect to the members and supporters which is something that Hinkley has not done for the last decade.

So over the media love fest of some country bumpkin who has achieved nothing in his playing and coaching career.
