What about the wheels on him? And he actually works and runs all day. He's actually putting many of his team mates to shame especially considering he has done so much less conditioning.
Really goes when he puts the hammer down. He carries zero extra, perfect build. First time I've seen him close up as I missed our previous home game. Super impressed. That run through the Port guys when he looked trapped left them standing like witches hats. The gap was only 3-4 metres wide and they never got near him. No hesitation, just WENT. Over the years I've been critical of guys who don't see the opportunity and take it but Bice definitely does both. A coaches delight.

VFL ROUND 4 REVIEW

SYDNEY SWANS
1.5 6.8 10.9 11.9 (75)
WERRIBEE
4.0 4.0 7.4 11.7 (73)

SYDNEY turned in perhaps the best 45-minute period it has produced since returning to the VFL in 2021 and then hung tough to upset a fast-finishing Werribee by two points at Blacktown International Sports Park.

The Swans were wasteful early and trailed by 13 points at quarter-time but in a stunning development they kept the reigning premiers scoreless from the 29-minute mark of the opening term until Dom Brew kicked a behind seven minutes into the third.

In all, they piled on 8.4 themselves to 0.1 until the 13th minute and led by 38 points when Logan McDonald kicked his only goal.

But the Tigers woke up with three goals in four minutes to get within 23 at the last change before kicking 4.3 to 1.0 in the run home, with Jack Buller’s third goal at the five-minute mark being Sydney’s only score as the home team defended for all their worth.

Jack Riding made it four points with six minutes to play but a set shot from Hudson Garoni fell a metre short and former Swan Harry Maguire hooked his shot from 35m in the final minute of his Werribee debut as Sydney held on to give Jarrad McVeigh his first win as a senior coach.

Buller and in-form sidekick Matty Lloyd kicked three goals each for the Swans, while Peter Ladhams responded to his AFL omission with 22 disposals, 25 hitouts, 11 clearances and two goals.

Ben Edwards, Angus Sheldrick, Ben Paton and Nick Shipley (13 tackles) starred underneath Ladhams and former AFL star Lachie Hunter made a successful comeback with 19 possessions and eight marks in defence.

In-form Werribee key back Ryan Eyers (15 disposals, eight marks) did a great job in keeping McDonald to 1.2 and Riding booted two goals from his 20 touches, while Brew and Louis Pinnuck again performed well, even though the Swans would be happy at being able to restrict their impact, with Garoni and Zac Banch kicking three goals each.

Interesting to see that Paton seems to go OK at this level though he didn't make it into the bests. Great to see how Pete responded to being dropped. 👏👏👏

Doe Shipley look an AFL quality player? His stats so far this year certainly suggest so - Averaging over 30 disposals and 10 tackles a game, high percentage of contested possessions, reasonable disposal efficiency.

Buller and Ladhams a chance this week given the games they had? Certainly looks good on the stat sheet but didnt see the game
Ladhams certainly a chance given how pathetic we were contested marking wise and he also helps out in the ruck as well

There was a 3 and a 2 for a Weribee player
It's the Swans board and i was only doing Swans players , why is it such a big deal , couldn't give a toss about the oppo
Having said that Eyers for them got 3 and he's on Corowa's list coached by Daryn Cresswell , but some wouldn't know who that is !

Will be an interesting test for Green tomorrow, going solo ruck against Moyle for the game, with the only back-up options being Buller and Podmore Taylor, who's only been named as an emergency.

Moyle would have to be one of the best (if not the best) rucks not getting a regular start at AFL level. Going up against him will be an excellent gauge to where Edwards is at.

For the record I think that if Cox wants to try key defenders forward he could do worse than moving Will Edwards and Patrick Snell forward. Edwards is 197cm, a great mark and has a 20m time of well under 2 seconds, not to mention his kicking range. He would be well worth try at full forward.

Snell was formerly a centre half forward at junior level and only played centre half back in the Allies because he was competing for centre half forward with Jed Walter.
