Sheldrick is very much flashes of brilliances flashes of absolute stu**dity

Like if he didn't have such dumb plays and the worst 2-3 TOs of the game he would be in the AFL side imo

I can’t help but wonder if Sheldrick has fully recovered from the syndesmosis.

He was kicking goals from 50 at age 17.

Syndesmosis is a nasty one & it can take a loooong time to get the ankle fully strengthened again.

He’s getting plenty of the ball, effective at stoppage - but he’s just lost the kicking penetration, which he previously had.
I have adjusted my expectations of Sheldrick

With his injury history. I should not have expected him to come into an AFL midfield and start dominating. So I see it as a positive if he ends up having an uninterrupted season and plays a few AFL games throughout the year.

I still remember that game v Lions where he was just nailing them. I really thought we had found a player. As tough as Parks but a better kick. If he doesn't make it in the final wash up, it will be such a shame.

Disagree, his disposal had been shoddy from day 1 at the club, had always either thrown it in his boot randomly or missed targets he should be hitting even at VFL level

I am more looking forward to watching the 2s than the 1s this week.
I am a little disillusioned.
We've lost rusty.

I repeat, we've lost rusty!

That was a pathetic effort from Kirk there just jogging around when the ball was 5 metres away. No pressure on the ball handler at all.

Then drops a simple intercept mark

One positive is that the KPD haven't conceeded a goal yet. Edwards Snell and Hamling all having decent games if you view it like that

It's hard to tell given the quality difference in the sides but we should be asking the question of Fiorini and Chlosey. They are tearing us apart.
These guys highlight the lack of depth we have. We have our listed players drop back but very rarely, if ever, dominate a VFL game like this. I'm thinking of players like Sheldrick, Mitchell, Corey and even Cleary, although to be fair, he hasn't played as many VFL games.

Cleary dominated the VFL tbh, even in Year 1. His one game this year he had 37 touches 5 marks 3 tackles.
7 of his 15 games in the VFL games last year he had 25+ touches.

Agree with your assessment on Sheldrick, Mitchell and to a certain degree Corey Warner but also Warner plays a position that is going to naturally have less touches and can almost be seen as less impact.

Can see why this is the VFL, Davies shanks a kick only for the resulting turnover to be turned back over from a Bowman missed mark

Sheldrick looking much better this quarter tbf. Has had a decent game but still 1-2 glaringly bad errors

We need a healthy list back so this VFL side can start getting some help with the likes of Lloyd, Florent, Hayward etc. in it. (Not saying these players specifically, but just using them as examples of best 22 players who have had poor starts to the year and theoretically could be dropped.) I think the coaches hands have been tied this year because they've had a tonne of senior players underperforming but literally SFA to replace them with.

That our best players in the VFL this year have been a ruckman in Ladhams and a non-listed player in Shipley, is a problem. (We only got to see one of Cleary's games, so don't really know how he performed. His one game that we saw was great.)

But I guess this bodes the question - WTAF are the rest doing? Are they aware they're playing for their careers? Does Indhi Kirk think being a club legend's son is gonna save him from being delisted when he's barely being sighted in games, only to often stuff up when he does touch it? Does Angus Sheldrick realise he is out of contract this year and is currently showing next to nothing that would make the club want to retain him? Does Jack Buller know that as a key forward, he has the lowest of bars to pass to have a moderate impact - use his body, make contests - and he still barely manages to do so? Does Caleb Mitchell want to show anything at all to impress?

Frustrating as hell.
