I’m surprised GWS aren’t in to Mihocek.

Mihocek would be a perfect third tall in that forward line + they are tired of losing youth and development and gaining youth. Especially as they are in the window.

That's the thing with Gruzewski, does he want another season of majority VFL footy or play senior footy.
Even if he has 1 year on a contract, if we are keen on him, we work on him. He isnt getting many games at GWS with a fit Hogan, Riccardi and Cadman in their forward line. He played 7 games this season, so he's basically backup.
He still isn't going to cost much, particularly if we work out a deal with his remaining 1 year of his contract....

I don’t disagree with the general argument, but would GWS be willing to relinquish him for that little? He’s a young key forward dominating at the reserve level who is contracted for another year

Ye we are not giving up a future first for a player who has played 10 games in 3 years.

Current second or a future second at most.

Oliver has been on field and performing. A new coach, and the club expects to bounce and contend. I don’t think they will sell cheap.

GWS already has Hogan, Cadman, Brown, Stringer, Riccardi and Gruzewski. Its an embarrassment of riches. They can't fit all of them into their AFL side as it is, so why would they consider adding Mihochek?

I thought it was pretty evident. But...
The anti collingwood types in the AFL media who love to make a massive headline when Fly changes brands of toilet paper because Collingwood sells papers and generates clicks (and in some cases they just enjoy causing havoc in the joint) yet mysteriously cant find their way to doing their job when players from other clubs stuff up, would be rubbing their hands together for an almost 365 day news cycle concerning Collingwood and JUH because you can bet your left arm he will step out again. Minor or not, the usual suspects would be on it like a fat kid on a mars bar.

If he wants to restart his career, the poor guy should not be coming to Collingwood. I would love him if healthy and in a good headspace but the attention will be too much for him. And the racists supposedly 'on our side' will come out of the woodwork like they did with Ash and even our flag-winning Bobby.

Well Gruzewski is out of contract, and if its true we have inquired about him, and he wants out, then 10 games in 3 years, l doubt GWS are asking alot for him and wouldn't be expecting alot.
That's like us trading a young player like Allan for example to WC and asking for a first round pick. We understand the players value isnt that, and we would be taking a 3rd rounder in the end.

Where has this come from? Are you sure you aren’t confusing his contract status with Derkson? I would personally hope Allan with 2 years to run on his contract with a better run at it this year would offer better value than a 3rd.

Petracca is on $1.5mil+ and is older. Also contracted till 2029.
