Yeah it does look like a timeslot for solid match sim, but I believe it’ll just be that and nothing to do with the season launch as the club usually builds it up by posting a “save the date”.
I think we’ll do something different this year maybe closer to the season but who knows, I could be wrong!

Looking that way and maybe do a season launch at the club early march

This could be misleading but it’s possibly Allan is taller than 194cm given he towers over long

They had their reasons I suppose and wanted to go younger and put more game time into the youngsters. Guess they felt they needed to do something different to get out of the rut.
Well chucking away a proven reliable goal kicker who was still performing at a very high level, for zero return is certainly “different”, I’ll give you that.

It gives me the same vibes as us delisting Sav for no logical reason, albeit not quite as horrendous as that decision.

Although I was told yesterday saints offered him 1 year, we offered him two.

These photos are always misleading, I wouldn’t declare that Allan towers over long until a genuine side by side pic where they’re both standing up straight is taken.

It’s a nice story but doesn’t make sense at all in context given that he had the chance to walk during the trade period but ended up getting delisted afterwards instead.

I’m pretty sure that the rules of free agency say that if you’re offered a contract and choose to decline it (ie, you’ve delisted yourself) you can’t become a delisted free agent, you have to go to the draft.

2 years
A balanced game plan
The opportunity to play with JDG, Pendles, Nick, Hill, etc
A winning culture
And Fly rather than Ross.

Just might swing it.

Whichever way you look at it they're both big boys.
When Ed arrived, he was tall and skinny, because he'd grown a lot in a short period, but now he's becoming tall and powerful.
Big season coming from him.

The rules don't say that at all.

It's fact he was offered a one year deal, and we offered him 2

The bloke at training Friday knows how family from.. somewhere in Gippsland that mentioned this. I can only take it at face value.

IF Player Presentation then why not Advertise it?
Only explanation is that they are doing it different this year and having the two things separate. Have the intraclub as part of a training session next week, and the player presentation at some point in the next couple weeks at the club

I mean, you could have at least checked before putting yourself out there and being so wrong. It’s literally on the first page of rules on the AFLPA site:

Edit: I did consider that maybe he could have moved because he was originally a delisted FA and therefore an auto free agent at the end of each contract, however that would then allow him to move during the allotted FA period, not the delisted FA period. So unless the AFL decided to throw the rulebook out the window, Membrey never received a formal offer from the saints.

In terms of the rules, Saints delisted him. He could have previously been offered a contract verbally or in writing and been available as a dfa.

Could very well have been an amicable delisting of a veteran that they would have kept for a year as depth but were in the midst of moving on from.

Maybe they could get away with it verbally, definitely not in writing. Read the rule, I even posted a screen shot of it. No idea why anyone is arguing about it given how clear it is.

I understand the rule. St Kilda just needed to retract their offer and he's available.

The rule is for when the club hasn't chosen to delist him. They did choose to delist him.
