You mean 40% full and that doesnt take into account the people who would have chosen to stand undercover or in the bars all day.Stadium sits 22k. 9k and it would look half full. 4k was my guess.
The AFL doesn't fluff crowd numbers, stop trolling.

People also arrive late, leave early, walk around, get food, spread themselves out, bunch themselves together, sit in cheersquads, etc.You mean 40% full and that doesnt take into account the people who would have chosen to stand undercover or in the bars all day.

In the past, absolutely. Hawthorn has taken six bays back from reserve seating so the bottom deck is much busier than pre 2025. There were games back in the day where the crowd was 75,000 to 80,000 and the bottom deck was 2/3 full. The new configuration looks much better on TV as Thursday showed.

Which is pretty much identical to Richmond and Carlton.

I don’t think Geelong has any reserve seating on the bottom deck.
Strange fixture to start the season for the Pies. High 30’s would be good. Usually their Marvel home matches are mid-year.
Members had to redeem ticket(s) to secure a seat. We don't have allocated reserved seats at Marvel, unlike the MCG.Am I right in saying members need to opt in to their reserved seats? - should help reach a higher capacity?
Pies’ last 10 at Docklands:

Most of those were ‘sellouts’, incl the two against North that are 39 and 38k. If this one isn’t selling out, there’s no reason to think it’ll get 40k. Docklands is our Achilles heel.
I feel you there. Though I remember a Richmond home v swans game there in maybe 2019 and the atmosphere was pumping. Had top 4 ramifications though from memory.
Collingwood rightly show their might with the ceiling of their crowds, it be good to see the floor continue to rise too.
Hell if they come off the boil and Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton and Essendon are all a basket case god help the attendances in Melbourne. The league needs the likes of Carlton and Essendon to fire a shot asap.
I've seen this been floated around a lot lately but do you think the AFL care anymore? The focus is on the national competition and proping up the northern clubs. In my opinion I think they are happy with WCE, Essendon and Carlton being basket cases the 3 clubs still bring decent crowds and high memberships.I feel you there. Tassie have sold about 5k tickets already for their first game in Launceston out of a capacity of 8.5k.
Capacity reduction due to construction work at the ground. Notable because Hawks will still play 4 AFL games there this season. Hopefully as work is completely more capacity will open up for some of their games later in the year.

As empty as it's been down there for a long while. Plenty reasons for it of course but looks sub 20k easily.Yep, the weather is going to be a drag on the attendance tonight as well. Been pouring all day and has turned freezing.
