2026 Attendances

You mean 40% full and that doesnt take into account the people who would have chosen to stand undercover or in the bars all day.

The AFL doesn't fluff crowd numbers, stop trolling.

Lol, when you say most of crowd was at bar you lost argument already.

People also arrive late, leave early, walk around, get food, spread themselves out, bunch themselves together, sit in cheersquads, etc.

The fact that a known NRL troll has come onto this board and just made up a number should not be getting any engagement from anyone. It's just literally making numbers up for the sake of it to envoke a response.

In the past, absolutely. Hawthorn has taken six bays back from reserve seating so the bottom deck is much busier than pre 2025. There were games back in the day where the crowd was 75,000 to 80,000 and the bottom deck was 2/3 full. The new configuration looks much better on TV as Thursday showed.

Which is pretty much identical to Richmond and Carlton.

I don’t think Geelong has any reserve seating on the bottom deck.

Awesome! Extremely similar now.

The Bombers' current troubles haven't dampened the ANZAC Day sales yet. The AFL Members tickets have been flying out the door at about the fastest rate I've seen.

Ten minutes into the sale it was offering the middle of the top deck as best available, by 13 minutes in it was offering the back section of the top deck, by 17 minutes it was standing room and on 20 minutes it told me it couldn't get me 3 tickets anywhere.

It will bounce around a bit as people release random tickets they're holding in their carts but it's effectively sold out in 20 minutes.

How’s Friday looking for Pies?

$27 level 1 and 3 tickets.

Am I right in saying members need to opt in to their reserved seats? - should help reach a higher capacity?

I’m surprised it isn’t sold out already.

Strange fixture to start the season for the Pies. High 30’s would be good. Usually their Marvel home matches are mid-year.

I think it’s got to start with a 4.

We rightfully acknowledge that they are in a league of their own with pretty much every single attendance stat.

The club has rightfully acknowledged it’s a struggle and gone hard on the marketing, ticketing, food prices.

Most of those were ‘sellouts’, incl the two against North that are 39 and 38k. If this one isn’t selling out, there’s no reason to think it’ll get 40k. Docklands is our Achilles heel.

Last time we cracked 40K against an interstate club at Marvel was in 2008. I would be pleasantly surprised if we reached that tomorrow night.

I feel you there. Though I remember a Richmond home v swans game there in maybe 2019 and the atmosphere was pumping. Had top 4 ramifications though from memory.

Collingwood rightly show their might with the ceiling of their crowds, it be good to see the floor continue to rise too.

Hell if they come off the boil and Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton and Essendon are all a basket case god help the attendances in Melbourne. The league needs the likes of Carlton and Essendon to fire a shot asap.

I've seen this been floated around a lot lately but do you think the AFL care anymore? The focus is on the national competition and proping up the northern clubs. In my opinion I think they are happy with WCE, Essendon and Carlton being basket cases the 3 clubs still bring decent crowds and high memberships.

Tassie have sold about 5k tickets already for their first game in Launceston out of a capacity of 8.5k.

Capacity reduction due to construction work at the ground. Notable because Hawks will still play 4 AFL games there this season. Hopefully as work is completely more capacity will open up for some of their games later in the year.

Not this season. Maybe for our last one or two games there in 2027.

I said this a few pages back but I’m very surprised the AFL is happy for 4 AFL games to be played at a stadium with a capacity of just 8,500
