E3 had to be the most bizarre finish I've ever seen.
The chasers really stuffed it up about looking at each other worried about losing a sprint finish for a podium. they should have caught him, but MVDP he powered on once they all looked at each other.

Jayco's lack of care with cobbled classics is biting them in the bum. Their cobbled team is not WT level, especially with the injuries to Bling and Capiot. They would be better off grabbing riders from Flanders Baloise.

Donaldson certainly has some promise at 23 years and in his second wt year.

34th at omloop isn’t amazing but finished in a group with other nice classics riders like zingle, van baarle, wellens, asgreen, skuijns.

Then 5th in ‘Flanders fields’ is way above expectations.

Importantly, significantly improved from last year. Hopefully with ongoing improvement in him.

They clearly need to improve in the area which was why they went and got capiot/de bonte/de pooter.

Pat Eddy would be their best Classics rider and maybe second best sprinter if he was on the squad.

We forget that Donaldson was in the chase group in E3 before being brought down in a crash. The team also got their team selection wrong. Ackermann should have Been at De Panne last Wednesday in which Capiot crashed and Capiot should have been at Gent Wevelgem. It's a pity they will not take the chance and bring Schmid to Ronde on Sunday. Anyway for Ronde and PR they should aim to have three in the break. And they should renew Donaldsons contract.

I didn't know that.

100% should renew Donaldson.

From the overhead he seemed to actually come with the most speed at the end. Started a fair way back ~P15 where Phillipsen was sitting up at P5 by the time the sprint fully opened up.

And now withdrawn from RVV
I am usually spot on with my Jayco information. Now it's a matter of naip8ng down Schmids renewal. They have been negotiating sine January.

Hopefully that’s a sign that he’s interested in renewing.

Why race at a lower level this weekend?

Is it a jayco decision to guarantee some more UCI points? Or to avoid him doing well in a bigger race which might bump his price?

Or would it be driven by schmid and his management.
