The Ireland soccer team done it for years under Jack Charlton and at one time they had more Englisg born players than Irish born players, and it still goes on today, but not in the same numbers.

So with a loss to Bahrain, what does this do for us in the group now?

Hard to imagine we finish above Saudi & Japan?

Astounding that we're still, somehow, second in our group, despite having played six third round world cup qualifiers and only walking away with one win to date. If we don't pick up two wins in the upcoming March window against Indonesia (in Aus) and China (away) then we can probably forget about qualifying through the third round. We really want to avoid the fourth/fifth round, if possible.

American Samoa get beaten 10-15 nil by the likes of Solomon Islands,Tahiti etc.

England got the job done against Albania without being spectacular. Bellingham probably their best player. Lewis-Skelly took his goal well and looked very comfortable stepping into midfield. Dan Burn is an aerial threat at corners and was ok on the ball, but he's slow both in turning and foot speed.
