Has the cost of social club gone up a lot in last few seasons? I'm on monthly 'Bulldogs for life' so $$$ come out of my account every month.

If anyone from the club reads this - it would be great if we got a digital social club card. Even an email attachment . My club pack with card/pin won't arrive for a few weeks due to late payment . I don't want to grovel at the door for entry, just to claim my free Nescafe from the big urn.

Also it would nice once in a while if someone from the staff came in after the game and addressed the members . I remember David Smorgon came in and made a rousing little speech in the early Eade days & i had a brief chat with Bob Murphy.

On Saturday they were giving out physical social club cards for those that use the digital membership

Oh thanks , I should have asked ! Was late to the game .

Anyone got any advice on this situation?

I have sat in a group of 4 for a long time on level 2 (Gold Reserved/Social Club/whatever they call it). 2 of our group upgraded to the wing with the next tier of seats, and a mate was keen to take one of the seats they left - was a bit of a run around but he was assigned the seat in the end.

As we found out on the weekend, they actually assigned him the seat with a gap between us instead of the seat next to us.

He called the membership line and the contact (who had upgraded our friends, and then organised his seat) is wrapping up this week, and the person on the phone essentially said the seat between us has been "sold" to ticketmaster for the year, and couldn't do anything about it.

While it's obviously manageable for this year (can just ask the person in between to swap seats), I worry we will get to the end of the season and they will screw it up again and not transfer him to the other seat, given how poorly managed this has been so far (has taken several calls and reminder calls to get the seat initially assigned).

He's been asked to email the club by the person on the phone, just wondering if anyone knows if there is a better path forward? I appreciate they may have put the ticket up on ticketmaster for the year, but surely only 1 or 2 rounds have been sold and the rest could be removed/swapped to the other seat for the season? Seems like we're just not speaking to the right people.

Just have the correct seat number and call the club as soon as next year's memberships open and ask to move to that seat.

If you get a single person sitting in it this year, just ask them to swap

We had the correct seat number this year and they screwed it up despite having to call several times - hence my worry about waiting until the offseason.

Hoping someone here can help me as the Club say they can’t do anything.

We have two seats on L2. My parents are over in May and I want to take / drag them to the Dees game at Marvel. Is there a way we can keep our seats and buy the seats adjacent? Or is my only option to buy 4 brand new tickets?

Any help appreciated.

Are your seats, season reserved seats

You can see where they are selling seats for that game online but it is a lottery and it may mean trying a few days in a row to get close seats but probably not next to each other seats.

Other option is to wing it and buy two L2 seats sit apart for first qrt and view where there are breaks in crowd then just move to vacant seats at quarter time ! That match will not be full.

They are checking Tiks at L2 entrance not at the aisle this year (probably to save money).

I have L2 wing but like to sit behind goals for a qrt or 2 so often just move aisles

They are L2 ‘Legends’ seats.

I could buy two tickets in the general area and try move seats. It’s will probably be ok…but it would be a bit of a shame if it didn’t work out. My parents are coming from England, so I want to make sure it’s going to be a good night.

The bloke who sits next to us has two reserved seats but rarely comes as he lives in Castlemaine. I wish I’d asked him about buying his tickets at the GWS game.

If anyone knows Zaine from Castlemaine then help me get in touch!

I just had a look at Ticketmaster and you can actually see the seating map to choose seats, so you may be able to find 2 seats close to you and then ask Zaine on the day if he would move.

What is our membership record? Was just told we are at 57k which feels high for this time of year.

Love this ticketing "system".

For tomorrow, had to upgrade a flexi member with GA to get them to sit with us. Went through the link in the email from the club, took us to TM. Selected "member" option, then tried for the option of "seat in the Bulldog area" hoping they'd at least get level 1 like us.

TM response: "there are no seats available"

So we backtrack and just select the "best available" option (or whatever the other one is called)... result: a seat allocation on level 1 in the same bay as us, 3 rows back. In the "Bulldogs area"!

WTF codes this sh1t?

If i want a guaranteed seat on level 3 tomorrow, i'm expected to pay $30 on top of my membership. Feck that.
I'll take my chances or stand with a restricted view behind the back row on L1.

The cynic in me is feeling they just assume a member will put up with lesser options and getting someone more casual in better spots to maximise tickets

Head scratching for us.
Deliberate exploitative algorithm for them.

It’s our home game right?

Why do you have to pay to guarantee a seat on the top level?

Surely there is an allocation for Bulldogs GA - make Essendon fans pay to guarantee a seat

There will be GA no reserves bay allocation, but maybe not the best seats & you need to come early to guarantee one. I guess Essendon have H & A ticket holders too who need a,seat.

I'm a dougie no mates who mostly goes to the footy on my own, so i can always find a seat . You just need to look for gaps and shove through

It's a handy way of raising revenue. Scare people with supposed scarcity . $30 on top of membership is way too much .

I cannot afford an extra $30 right now, I paid for a freaking membership. That being said, anything more than $10 to "reserve" a seat is BS and ripping off fans.

This will be my first live game all year. Been desperately for it, given the next is weeks away. Will be taking a near two hour trip of car and train just to get there, and doing night shift tonight as well. I will be gutted if I get turned around at the gate because they are "full". But I will be taking the chance.

That being said, When was the last time we maxed out a home game vs struggling teams?

And I think home AND away memberships should become obsolete if crowds grow more and more over the years. Home team members should ALWAYS get access priority over away team members. Any left over seats should be open to the public. If you "guarantee" an X amount allocated aside for away team members. That's X seats you're denying home team members.

If you can, arrive a bit earlier for our VFL clash. Then you can watch our seconds, get a decent seat, and if you get kicked out of your seat. You're in, and they can't boot you out from there.

I received a notification from the club today that you can get GA tickets L3 for $15 and Level 1 seats behind the goals for $40 each. The link is on the club's Twitter account. Sorry, don't know how to link the link on my phone. I'd imagine that sitting near the Essendon cheersquad would be "entertaining".

That is what I'm aiming for. Hopefully not too big a gap between the two games.
