Don't overcomplicate it; we like Becker, and he's the exact type of player we need;

A big-bodied young medium defender with an aggressive mindset.

Just say we were torn between Becker & Bamert.

Bamert is the younger player with arguably higher upside due to his athletic traits. Downside is he plays in a position (at this stage) where we have plenty of depth (half forward). He has shown plenty of capacity to play as a mid in juniors though so that flexibility could be beneficial.

Becker looks a dour reliable defensive type. Probably not suited to playing on KP’s but more of a third tall interceptor who can also be accountable. Booming kick which is important for breaking zones. Plays a position of need, but likely to have limited upside because of his athleticism.

As much as I did like Becker, I think the ceiling of Bamert (or Louie Montgomery) would be too hard to ignore.

Hate to say it, but we were very lucky last year that Bergman done his ACL 10 days prior to the MSD. Who knows we may have not taken Trembath had that extra list spot opened up....

Even though we picked him higher, I suspect Banch would have been the one to end up on another club's list. It seems Brady and co were confident they'd hidden Cooper enough to slide to our pick 2. Banch wouldn't have been there at 10.

Likely we cop an injury, but if we don’t, it’s clearly one of those obvious decisions we haven’t been able to make the previous 5 or so years.

I heard a rumour that Tonya Harding's ex-husband was seen leaving Arden Street with a photo of CCJ...

Yep. Pretty sure WCE and a few other teams were keen on Banch the pick before our 2nd selection.

Yep. I think ultimately Bamert is more likely to be snapped up as most likely being an AFL prospect.
You could rookie a defender like Becker or another mature state league player at year end.

The mid-season draft is expected to be held on Tuesday, May 26, between rounds 11 and 12. – Callum Twomey
How is this not locked in yet?

Amateur shit.

Love Bamert, but it's highly likely he ends up a half forward at AFL level at least in the shorter term.

Not sure that's a pressing need for us.

Would prefer Louie Montgomery myself. Damaging Half back who is accountable but can also provide some real drive.

He is soon to be 20 and is built like an adonis

Sold on Bamert.
Tarrant will definitely be scouted by a few clubs looking for a ready-made contested marking FF.

2.1 in the exhibition match against SA, and 4.2 the week before against the blues.

He’d be a better option than Buller for the Pies

Becker looked awful during the preseason especially against the Dees out at Casey. Looked far from the level
And Carey had 7 possessions and no goals during his first game if l remember correctly. While he isnt Carey, some players need time to develop and adjust to the tempo of the game..

And pies thought they pulled a swifty over the swans

I thought he’d be an okay AFL player, but unfortunately isn’t up to it.

The fact that the pies somehow thought he’d be a value play by not coughing up 2 years for Mihochek is beyond stupid. That’s worse than us arseh*le-ing Brown with no key forward depth.
