Virtually the same thing J, in HIS opinion he was , the rest of the report was outstandingThat's the thing, he never said Rosas was cheating, he noticed he was shortcutting and wondered if he would be picked up for it.

Possibly because wrestling and body positioning was the point of the exercise? I don't know, but they would be getting him to work on certain things that we don't know about. Why does Cox give Will a talking to about not letting go of his opppnemt around the 3 min mark. He'd left his marking opponent behind and stepped forward to the drop of the ball. I dont get it. Anyone care to explain. Why would you still wrestle if the opponemt has dropped off. Does that mean he should let the ball drop to the ground and wait till his opponent recovers. It beduffles me. Its one of the things that sometimes annoys me in games the wrestling by defenders keeping their eyes mostly on the movement of their opponent and not on the drop of the ball as opposed to the forward who keeps his eyes mostly on the ball. Someone explain it to me

Your question is good and I wish I could explain it but I can't.
However I can't get over how tickled I am by the word 'beduffles'! I'm not sure if it was a typo or on purpose but I enjoyed it.
Love how Nool gets a laughBeduffles (adj): to be confused by a bedford post.
I think i knew there was a way to express how i felt. I dont think id used befuddles or my new word beduffles before. So i thought it was beduffles and preferred it anyway. It felt like it was still portraying the feelings of how i felt. I didnt make an effort to validate it because i was happy with it anywayYour question is good and I wish I could explain it but I can't.

Tommy is also a pre-agent this yearSam Walsh is a free agent this year![]()
Will probably get Walsh to replace Adams on the injury list
Walsh body is cooked and a minimal damaging mid forward of centre. Overrated
When i first glanced at this post I thought Tommy was having a baby!Tommy is also a pre-agent this year

There must be a handful of players in the comp that are fairly rated Punts ? SurelyWill probably get Walsh to replace Adams on the injury list

I definitely don't want to hang Rosas out to dry. I'm excited about what he brings. I will think a third time before publishing critical comment in future (I already think twice and hold back some observations).
As others have already pointed out, it was my impression that he was shortcutting, not a cold fact. Plus there's a lack of context or other side of the story. All I can say with confidence is that he wasn't running quite as far as the guys next to him on the shuttles, but it was a small difference. A metre may well be overstating it. Was probably 1-3 feet short at either end of each shuttle run. I guess it's relevant that he looked like he was keeping up with the frontrunners and doing it comfortably, while the others looked like they were working hard. And that's what made me zoom in on him a bit to figure out what was happening.

you're entitled to call it as you see it ... your first-hand observations are very much appreciated
i reckon rosas will be surprise plenty, he'll turn out a good pick-up
So the same argument you've made can also be applied to Serong then.Incoming pessimistic post (stop reading now if you’re the glass half full type who doesn’t like anything but positivity):
When is the last time we recruited a fringe player from another club who turned out to be best XXII?
Recent years haven’t exactly been filled with trade success stories, so I’m tempering expectations with Rosa.
Not referring back to past events (no virtue in relitigating) but just the three "fringe" players (including Cootee here) we have taken now. All have decent achievements on their CVs at the lower level with B&F, captaincy and some pretty strong recommendations. Rosas' is probably the weakest but he has had good form at AFL level a few years ago and has been decent at VFL.Incoming pessimistic post (stop reading now if you’re the glass half full type who doesn’t like anything but positivity):

* it was JJ - but there’s a litany of failures among the occasional success.
Technically Grundy couldn't get into Melbourne's best 22 either so would be a loose but technically fringe playerIncoming pessimistic post (stop reading now if you’re the glass half full type who doesn’t like anything but positivity):

Hickey was a success, Grundy, JordanIncoming pessimistic post (stop reading now if you’re the glass half full type who doesn’t like anything but positivity):

Ladhams, Adams - hmmm fail?, Although Ladhams is now providing ruck depth and I'd rather him on the list than not,, and Adams may be offering a lot off field? - but happy to call that a fail
All the rest I can recall over the last 8-10 years were players that no other club wanted. They, Hamling, Carke, the fella from Bissy etc were recruited mostly as delistered free agents and as depth.
The Swans have had no salary cap space since Buddy and the loss of COLA, making trading decent players very hard. Its a wonder we were able to stay competitive !
Our last active trade period resulted in Grundy, Jordon, Adams and Hamling - Id say that was a success overall
This trade period resulted in Curnow, Rosas and Serong. All players that multiple other clubs were chasing hard. Time will tell, but Im optimistic about all three
