Gotta say Caro Wilson is an absolute soulless ghoul. That Leigh Matthews and that other bloke sat next to her and let her run with this stuff is an indictment on them too.

"This is coming strongly from Collingwood players" but when questioned, she backs away and says she hasn't confirmed any of it??? Then why are you saying it you dried up sack of arse hair.

Harsh on soulless ghouls tbh

The lack of action on the senior coach leaves everyone feeling like they care more about what's happening than the guys in charge.

We can all see its a hopeless situation for Voss yet we all just have to sit here and pretend like this is ok.
No one is pretending anything

Action wont be swayed by emotional supporters and media

I’m glad

She is as you say - but unfortunately her mail is correct - that she chose to air it means your description of her is correct.

Which is why I mentioned in an other thread she won’t let this go till the AFL penalise us our access to Cody Walker.

You think emotion is driving all supporters?

5 years into a coaching job and you're 1-5.

Take all the emotion out of it - you're done. It's not a job for life. He's been given a really good crack at it, came up short - it's time to move on.

Letting it fester like this is damaging in a lot of ways.

Isn’t there an AFL doctor neutral to both clubs on the boundary as well? I know they’re primarily there for head knocks, but they would also have a duty of care in the case of Elijah.

Essendon were penalised for treating their players like cattle by gaining access to pick 1

No way we get penalised draft picks for what happened thursday

If so then we blow the whole thing up and start restraint of trade proceedings- get our own Bosman case

Well maybe the decision on Voss has already been made?

Maybe this is less about timing of a sacking and more about timing of an appointment?

You just can’t see this happening at the well run clubs RE Geelong or Hawthorn.

One of the leaders at bare minimum would have intervened.

A premiership is won from the administration down to the players and coaches.

Right now - we’re rubbish across every line.

These events have destroyed my belief in this club more than the poor performances and average list.

We’re just still so far from being a well run club top to bottom.

Re draft - Herald Sun article (Jay Clark and Glenn McFarlene) specifically indicating the likely outcome if we are found to have mishandled the situation is a substantial fine. (https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/...y/news-story/cc78b920c2b3be56c8fbcfdce9116459)

“The AFL contacted Carlton on Saturday, demanding full oversight of the club’s ongoing probe, which has put the Blues under serious heat.

Once the AFL receives the Blues’ review findings, it will assess whether there was any negligence or duty of care breach.

If the club’s processes are found to have been inadequate, it would put Carlton in the frame for a substantial fine.”

I generally think her reporting is credible, but it starts to lose weight when she leans into over-sensationalising certain points.

“Why didn’t Chris Davies or Graham Wright step in to overrule Voss and the coaches and prevent him from playing?”

“The Collingwood players saw him shank that kick in the warm-up” - that just doesn’t stack up.

“There are claims Collingwood players said he admitted to drinking” - yet she then concedes she couldn’t verify that directly, and is only raising it because Carlton didn’t explicitly rule out alcohol in their statement.

The answer to your incorrect comparison is the first word of your post “Essendon”. 😉

Clearly the club got it wrong on this occasion. But things are not always as clear-cut as we might imagine.
And you get some supporters of clubs we won't name (Collingwood) on the main board Maude Flandersing it up with claims like "worst case of negligence I have ever seen in my life!"

I’ll say my piece on Elijah hollands … disgraceful that he was passed fit to be out there, after the first quarter he should have been taken off the ground. The fact he wasn’t is an even bigger disgrace and heads should roll!! Simple as that. Chris Davies as our head of football has a lot to answer for this one! He talks a big game big Chris along with GW but we’re going backwards at a rate of knots with these two at the helm. This EH episode is another blight on their record.
Well said bb!!

I'll be very interested in Davies' involvement over the next week given this was on his watch - or is he just going to sit back and let Voss and the 'leaders' cop all the flak and questions through the media. We've heard him being interviewed from time to time, and seen him in videos - especially during the draft period, where he's got his arms folded and a look on his face like someone's just dropped a turd in his porridge - but NOW is a time that he needs to stand up and take some accountability as the GM of Football.

IMO, he should have been all over this in his role as GM of Football - ie overseeing coaches, medico's, trainers and all involved in football operations - especially when it was a situation flagged during the week, not just on game day. Ultimately, the buck stops with him - but I'll be waiting to see if he accepts any level of responsibility, or just let others take the fall.

This is beyond disgraceful - he was spraying them in front of assistant coaches in the warm up and was off with the pixies from the fist bounce. The whole crowd knew.

Absolute negligence. Hope the club gets sued and heads roll over this. Drunk, drugs, mental health whatever facts are he was left on the MCG to rot until the start of the 4th quarter!
The whole crowd didn’t know, that’s just a rubbish statement.
I sat there aware he was statless saying to my family it’s actually a really difficult thing to do, aware that teammates were completely ignoring him even though he was miles in the clear on multiple occasions and being angry about it but only became aware of the situation when I got home and read it on here.

Does anyone on here have any experience with alcoholics and the tricks they use to hide their addiction?
I do and it doesn’t surprise me in the least what Caro has said. I’ve been told similar, 2nd hand but I’ve no reason to dismiss it. Happy to PM a Mod with details if necessary

I don't think anyone is saying he didn't say it, definitely. What I'm saying is it was ridiculous of Caro to say "I'm bringing it up because the club hasn't shut it down", and then saying club medical staff reported they didn't see evidence of it. No, she was bringing it up because it's hearsay that she can trade for a position in the story.

It's also possible a person might mask other more serious issues by laughing it off with "Nah, I've just had a couple of drinks".

I don't know either way. Or any of the other ways it could shake out.

If Elijah wasn’t drunk I hope he sues you into oblivion along with Caro and Morris.

Reckon this is a case of her throwing a pile of shit to see if any of it sticks....
