Trade Trac. You'll fall behind playing one premo short for 4-6 weeks.
It's only best 18 for two more weeks. Premo's are even more important in bye rounds as their score is a bigger % of your total. Not with best 18.
Cooks not getting dropped lol, you've spent too much time with stevebbb

Most people's 18th score would be in the 60s. Pushing that out for a premo's 115 over the next two weeks is nothing to sneeze at.True to an extent- but the effect is diluted by having (if you have a full 23) 5 crap scores drop out of your total (which can often come from premos or rookies or midpricers).
Premos being a bigger % of your total is only entirely true if they score every week like a premo (which they don't)
So there is definately merit in saying the damage done by holding trac for 4 weeks is lessened (but not eliminated) by 2 weeks of best 18.
653k in the bank with the aim to upgrade Windsor to Ash and Parish to Bont next week.
Is this a bad strategy? Below is my team before trades. Risking losing this with a more long term goal.
any advice welcomed

If Trac's replacement goes 110 and your 18th player goes 60, you are losing 50 pts if you don't bring in a premo for him. The 17 scores above number 18 will count either way, but the 60 drops out for Trac's replacementI disagree with the logic there.
You aren't replacing a 60 score with a 115 score in your best 18 by bringing in a premo to replace trac.
Your 18th score will likely be in the 60s regardless of whether you replace trac with a premo or do nothing.
Replacing trac with a premo will simply mean that your 17th score will become your 18th score if your premo replacement scores a 115.
So what you gain in points is the difference between your 17th and 18th score.
Not the difference between your 18th score and the premo replacement.
Happy to be shown how that logic is wrong if it is- but seems pretty solid to me.
What if you are trading him to Xerri who is going to put another 200 up this week as captain?I disagree with the logic there.

how is it not? youre already scoring that 17th score, by getting an actual playing premo youre replacing the worst score with a premo score.I disagree with the logic there.

also cant be using this as an example where you prove yourself wrong, come onDisagree.
The 60 drops out for circa the score above it.
Simplified example, say instead of best 18 with a squad of 23- it's best 2 with a squad of 4.
No trac trade squad scores:
120
100
80
0 (Trac)
Best 2 means you score 220.
Vs.
Trac trade version scores:
120
115 (trac replacement)
100
80
Best 2 means you score 235.
