Why not?

Love him as a player (aside from Supercoach), reliable as it gets and hasn't missed a game in 3 years!!

I wouldn't expect him to maintain his 116 average. His last 3 years he has averaged 92, 92 and 94. Expect he'll end up in that zone again, though you could take a POD punt that he adds something to that this season. Worst case, he plays every game, has his share of big weeks as he always does and you get a reliable average in the mid 90's, which is fine for a D6.

Just don't buy him at his 'peak price'.
different set up with nas playing furhter up the ground atm so lends itself to wilkie hogging it a bit, could be a ripper pod imo

Can understand the reasoning but he is a no from me (I have small balls).

10 years in the AFL now - had 1 season averaging 97, every other year 87 or less.

Has had midfield stints and scoring patches before and they never seem to last. Produces big games (or even a big month) but also has a very low floor (11 times under 60 the last 2 seasons).

Not a lot up forward so could end up a masterstroke but I prefer to lean into the players that have done it before and am hoping we get that up forward through DPP (JHF, Touk?, etc)
freo have picked a bunch of small fwds this draft so have more options to take his spot up there (dudley in good form, freddy will be back eventually and switta is a lock so thats 3 dedicated smalls up front) + young injury prone so may really only ever be in for stints + bolton being a centre bounce beast, should get consistent mid minutes imo

I want Shai Bolton so bad. I've been burnt by him in the past too. I must love pain...

70% CBAs on the weekend with Young out, and he tore the Dees midfield a new one, he was unreal at stoppages. Tigers, Crows and Pies, if this mostly mid role continues, he could go mental and be $550k+ in a few weeks.

Not sure whether to do one of the following scenarios:

a) trade out Rozee for Houston and a rookie for Watkins
b) Trade out Rozee for Watkin, upgrade Blakiston to Houston
c) trade out Rozee for Ash,
d) trade out petracca for Cook for mid/fwd flexibility (are people doing this)?

keen for advice!

Of your options, I like (b) the best.

It's essentially the same as (a), except you are trading out Blakiston instead of a rookie. Unless you have a dead rook, Blakiston is scoring in the 60's (so the same as most rooks anyway), but costs $295K (so is not going up in value and is what a maxxed out rook would get to, scoring in the 60's). He also has Bryan coming back soon (so good chance he loses his place or is used as a key defender again) and is up against Xerri this week (who should destroy him).

Bringing in a rookie on the bubble who will make $$ is the key to this game so just pick your favourite out of Watkins/Cook (which is why I like b more than c) and get rid of Blakiston, either down to the other bubble rook (assuming you have the flexibility) or up to one of your chosen premiums (Ash for POD gun or Houston for value)

Thanks.

Have actually gone Trac - Cook, and rook - Watkins already.

Trying to decide on 3rd trade (for Rozee).

Do I go the 'value' option in Coniglio (as it appears he will get forward status) or go straight to Holmes now and get some points on the field?

(Holmes is safe and a lock it in premium, with points to keep pace this week but is also not going anywhere in terms of value so could be brought in just as easily next week. Coniglio has great scoring history, will get fwd status and is cheap (going up $25K this week) but means less points now and is a risk as he has had consistent injuries the last 2 years)

What do you think?

(P.S. Strangely, I'm happy to ignore Houston and Worrell for one more week to see if the scoring/role continues for Houston and the injury cloud for Worrell. The reason I feel differently is that there are lots of premo options in defence but very thin up forward)
I've got Cogs from the start, but I'm not too sure if he is a good buy in if I didn't start with him.
Question - how is Cogs different to JDG and Rachele in your assessment?

JDG already has DPP and Rachele might - but, he's too hot and cold atm

So um, how crazy would it be for me to do

Rozee, Trac, Sharp out
Houston, Cook, Xerri (via Kalani) in

Leaves me with all of Xerri, Cameron, English, McAndrew and White. But I mean, Xerri is scoring another 200 this week, so...

Considering they're the three most popular trades this week, not very crazy lol

More having 5 rucks on my team than anything. I understand the general premise isn't crazy at all.

Marshall injured during match sim today… what are people thinking?
Last time I was told he was injured he was fine so I'll wait until teams are named.

The plan for this week is dropping Trac and Rozee to Nas and Cook and looking at using a boost to grab Watkins also. Tossing up whether to get rid of Sharp or blakiston to accommodate the move and wondering who people think is the higher priority trade out.

Fair. I have the same (Gawn, Xerri, English, McAndrew, and White [he'll go next week]). Think plenty are doing it

It may say more about how bad the dees midfield actually are, which is where I sit.

I tend to focus (perhaps a little too much?) on scoring history to determine who is a good buy or not.

Rachele averaged 68 last year, 69 so far this year and a career high of 74. He's improved as a player but never been a supercoach scorer. Hard pass for me.

DeGoey has racked up 12 seasons and been a tease throughout, never playing more than 20 games his entire career, including 9 last year, 13 the year before, etc. Besides their premiership year (he had a standout year, averaging 97) he has averaged mid 80's during his peak.

Coniglio has had 2 injury interrupted seasons (which is why he is a big risk) but played the full year prior to that, averaging 100+. He played all but 2 games the year before that, also averaging 100+. All up, he has had 5 seasons averaging 100+ (and 3 more in the 90's). He seems fit again and is averaging 95 after 3 games (after an impressive pre-season), with 2 good sores and 1 average score, when the whole team was awful. Wouldn't have considered as a mid only, but with forward status on the way (where there are very few options), an average of 90+ @ $344K seems a good value possibility IF he can stay fit (which is a big IF).

There's no room for logic on the SC forum :p

Is anyone bringing in a premo for Petrecca?

I have enough money for a Cameron or Miers type but no one seems to be bringing in an expensive forward.

What’s Murphy Reid’s role? He’s an interesting one for mine

CD Don't give points to players like Rachel for looking in the mirror " Who's pretty boy " :moustache: .
He's on his last chance for me this week!
I have a few that's on the chopping block for Bont - potentially two of these: Cogs, Rachele, JDG, Windsor and Parish
