$338k left over. Petracca sitting on the bench for now just as he would have if he wasn't injured. Hopefully some indication over the next week if its closer to 4 or 6.

Next week look to move up either a rookie or Blakiston to a premo.
I'd be keeping Carroll for a week to get his price rise.
Any reason you can't trade out trac instead, even with the same ins?

Ive gone cold on getting a premium this round. Gawn is appealing but i dont think he represents enough value at the moment and buying him will exhaust almost all of my funds which i want for round 5 onwards. That way i can chase NWM & Whitfield/Ash. Another reason to avoid Gawn is the fact McAndrew is scoring well and since i have Xerri, English & White as well, buying Gawn would push McAndrew to R3.

So, im thinking i will go Petracca, Rozee & Sharp > Houston, Cook & W.Duursma

Duursma may be a bit of a POD as everyone seems to be prioritising other rookies at the moment - which is totally understandable given Duursma is over 100k more than the likes of Blamires & Watkins. I'll take the job security of Duursma and if he keeps going at 80s ill be stoked.

Those moves leave me with almost $523k in the bank to go shopping after the round 4 bye. My defence is currently weak with Houston D2 & Windsor at D3 but if i grab 2 of NWM, Ash & Whitfield for round 5 suddenly it will be strong. Also id note that Marshall & Blamires should be getting DEF DPP so by round 6 my backline should be a hell of a lot stronger than it is now.

Next round i may even double down if Scerri/LeFau look the goods. Parish & Lombard could be on the block. That would leave me a massive amount of cash to use for upgrades from round 5 onwards!

Very happy with how the season has started. Hoping to keep rolling!

Thanks.

Have actually gone Trac - Cook, and rook - Watkins already.

Trying to decide on 3rd trade (for Rozee).

Do I go the 'value' option in Coniglio (as it appears he will get forward status) or go straight to Holmes now and get some points on the field?

(Holmes is safe and a lock it in premium, with points to keep pace this week but is also not going anywhere in terms of value so could be brought in just as easily next week. Coniglio has great scoring history, will get fwd status and is cheap (going up $25K this week) but means less points now and is a risk as he has had consistent injuries the last 2 years)

What do you think?

(P.S. Strangely, I'm happy to ignore Houston and Worrell for one more week to see if the scoring/role continues for Houston and the injury cloud for Worrell. The reason I feel differently is that there are lots of premo options in defence but very thin up forward)
Don't like dropping a keeper down to a stepping stone personally.

Have 13 or Maybe 14 (Sharp) not playing this weekend due to Bye, Injuries or general spuddyness. Last week descimated my team. Have to boost.

Dont have enough for a better Defence option than Short if I get X. Think is the toughest week I have ever fronted.

I'm kind of reluctant to talk you into your other option in Holmes, as that is who I'm replacing Petracca with along with a lot of others. I wanted Ash in defence to replace Rozee, but have gone another direction, as GWS have the bye next week, and I don't hold a lot of confidence in the D rookies scoring abilities.

Cogs also has a bye next week, so I'd wait for him until after his bye. Another $25k, if that is what he is expected to go up by, is neither here nor there. A score of 83 sees him go up $15k or so, so I guess $25k isn't out of the question. Still, at $390k, if he is averaging 95-100 he is still value isn't he?

Unlucky with Redman. POD and gets injured right at start of season

I'm going Ash, BE of 70, 19 tons last yr and solid start this season, a bit safer than Worrell imo and already have Houston. Think there's value in stiffening up the premos in defence, could get messy running 3-4 rooks down there. Happy to concede a bye for an all season pick

Is it insane to consider Cal Wilkie? Wouldn't take him this week due to the bye next week but watching him and Sinclair chip it to each other all game for the first three rounds has tempted me.
not everyone is bothered by too many in one team but it’s something I watch and would you be ok with having all of Sinc Wilkie NAS Flanders every week

I want Shai Bolton so bad. I've been burnt by him in the past too. I must love pain...

70% CBAs on the weekend with Young out, and he tore the Dees midfield a new one, he was unreal at stoppages. Tigers, Crows and Pies, if this mostly mid role continues, he could go mental and be $550k+ in a few weeks.

Can understand the reasoning but he is a no from me (I have small balls).

10 years in the AFL now - had 1 season averaging 97, every other year 87 or less.

Has had midfield stints and scoring patches before and they never seem to last. Produces big games (or even a big month) but also has a very low floor (11 times under 60 the last 2 seasons).

Not a lot up forward so could end up a masterstroke but I prefer to lean into the players that have done it before and am hoping we get that up forward through DPP (JHF, Touk?, etc)

his fox footy post match interview was interesting if you can somehow find it.. something about a 70/30 split between fwd/mid.

Why not?

Love him as a player (aside from Supercoach), reliable as it gets and hasn't missed a game in 3 years!!

I wouldn't expect him to maintain his 116 average. His last 3 years he has averaged 92, 92 and 94. Expect he'll end up in that zone again, though you could take a POD punt that he adds something to that this season. Worst case, he plays every game, has his share of big weeks as he always does and you get a reliable average in the mid 90's, which is fine for a D6.

Just don't buy him at his 'peak price'.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Zorko? Does he get rested abit this year?

Who knows? He is a million years old so it's possible but Brisbane have started behind the 8 ball a little (0-2) and Zorko is pretty professional (despite being a douche) - he hasn't missed a game at all the last 2 seasons.

Could pick up a niggle and be rested but to be fair, that applies to anyone. Given no missed games for 2 years, I wouldn't factor it into you thinking too much.

podding for the sake of a pod. no thanks

Helps if I put the right name haha

Both were top 11 mids last year in total points. I want Hewett but not sure how much Walsh being back will impact his scores

Does the wet weather make Jordan Clark a no-go?

I reckon he’s going to ave 105 this year. Just looks to my eyes that he’s hit his absolute peak in confidence and ability. He gave Hogan an absolute bath in 1v1 contests which is crazy because Hogan lead the league in contested marks. I think with nas going mid/fwd more there is more room for him to be the kick to kick option with Sinclair.

His interview on Triple M was even better (on the Wednesday rub) where Bolton said a 60/50 split between mid/fwd.

Still not sure if im doing the right thing bringing in Xerri as i have English, Jackson, White and McAndrew as flex. This would mean having McAndrew R3. let me know your thoughts.
Option 1
Rozee -> NWM, Zorko Clark or Houston
Patraca -> Cook
White -> Xerri (49,300 in the shed worst case)

Option 2
Rozee -> NWM, Zorko Clark or Houston
Patraca -> Cook
Sharp -> Holmes (187.000 in the shed)

Not sure whether to do one of the following scenarios:

a) trade out Rozee for Houston and a rookie for Watkins
b) Trade out Rozee for Watkin, upgrade Blakiston to Houston
c) trade out Rozee for Ash,
d) trade out petracca for Cook for mid/fwd flexibility (are people doing this)?

keen for advice!
