This is our biggest problem and we've lost some ascendancy from the centre throw ups. Our system needs fast and classy flankers to work well. Really only Jaicos is the one who does it well. We need more from our wingers and flankers. It can improve fairly quickly if these guys go up a gear. The stupid VFL comp doesn't help. We can't get games into our fringe players
I think it can turn quickly. We were a prelim team last year and the oldies don't really look to have really declined. I think we need Bobby Hill back and McCreery out of the midfield to forward to give us some line breaking forward of the ball - Jordy and Elliott getting going as well and things could look alright.

At 6’5’ he’s a good size but he went pick 56 in the draft as a father/son. Other clubs didn’t feel the need to bid on him earlier either.
I reckon he can play and would be looking at him for the right price. He has some tricks.

Dear has some of the best hands I've seen in the game.. he really doesn't lead up to the ball more a pack mark player perfect 3rd option if pies get ben king and dear it would work

It would be nice if CFC could hold it together until after the midseason bye. Players seem proactive on their future during the period.

Bottom feeding for years to get Top picks is a far greater contributor to their current success.
Just over ten years since they won three in a row.
Don’t get me wrong, Fly has done a tremendous job to get a flag out of our veterans.

Now we move to the next stage.

Fly won a flag when a drop off and rebuild was expected. Then Collingwood chose to continue with the veterans rather than rebuild. This year confuses me a bit. Tier two veterans were moved on at the end of last year. No major acquisitions. We have game plan changes not quite working. We have senior players not performing and not doing the basics. It has the feel of a transition year. List changes at the end of this year will be fascinating.

the F50 mix is too slow.

Mcstay, Membrey, Elliot, Schulz are all really marking players. They aren't small crumbers with speed. That has to change.

I would love the club to keep this years first round selection, it could be a top ten player. Which obviously means trading to acquire players is off the cards unless future picks are acceptable. CFC might have to pay the player more to stay in the game.

I'm also bullish on the list more than what they have delivered this year todate. Bobby's magic is a huge loss. I believe in Reef, Ed, Westy, Hayes, HH and Howes from the VFL. My belief in Parker is waning due zero disposal efficiency improvement.

Obviously, young Swaddling has jumped out of the blocks.... Ball magnet, he will obviously not understand Flys style of footy at this stage but just keep doing what ever he's doing.

Fix the midfield first and then worry about the rest. Next month will be an interesting watch.

HH could be anything but he has Beau’s condition in that he just never gets it enough
Swaddling excites bc he can get the ball - although maybe that’s an indictment on the list that if you can find the ball you stand out

Why is trading to acquire players off the cards if we have a top 10 pick?

I think if we get a top 10 pick we just go after the best key forward in the draft. It will be the first time since Cloke we have a chance of attaining a high quality key forward and is quite obviously our biggest need on our list.

I’m not sure Pickett or Houndsome will be in our range, and they’re the ones who look worthy of a top 10 pick. Would rather try and get a tall from another club than reach

There's got to be one available at our pick though.

Pickett just blew out a knee and Houndsome isn't worthy of a top 10 pick so I doubt either will be going in the top 20. Picking a tall just because you need one when better players are available is asinine recruiting.

If only Bobby was available
I want Bobby back and playing great games for the pies. The path back must be committing to team schedule, team mates and the club. This involves repairing and building relationships and being professional. He has done it before and must do it for a period now. It’s reported that he has returned in better shape than expected. Beautiful. Now the next step.

Particularly when we also need mids, kpd and speed and skill.

You're drafting for 3+ years time when our team is going to have lost a fair few players. There isn't a player type we don't need.

We need an immediate KPF, but in terms of drafting time lines, it's a position where we have a couple of promising kids. That's what a drafted kpf will be - not a short term fix for a current hole.
