So is Anderson actually keen to get to North, or is that the outstanding piece to this puzzle?
Yep he has said ok.

If Carlisle has genuinely said that he'll go to Hawthorn if St Kilda won't give us a fair deal, then mad respect to him.
Would mean, at least from my view, that he just wants a fresh start. After what he's been through can't blame him for that, especially since he'll get to play in his preferred backman position at either Hawthorn or St Kilda.
But AFL.com.au has confirmed that the Hawks are seeking to exploit an impasse in St Kilda's negotiations with Essendon, with the Saints so far refusing to meet the Bombers' demand of pick No.5 for Carlisle.
The Hawks are attempting to snare Carlisle in a three-way deal that, according to reports, would see:
The three clubs have agreed to the deal in principle but it is far from over the line.
- Hawthorn parts with pick No.18 and Anderson for Carlisle;
- North receives Anderson and Essendon's pick No.41 in exchange for pick No.15, and,
- Essendon receives picks No.15 and 18 for Carlisle and pick No.41.
Carlisle, who is overseas on holiday, is understood to be prepared to move to the Hawks, but only in the event that St Kilda is unable to broker a trade with Essendon.
Anderson is believed to be open to a move to Arden Street after visiting the club last week.
But the opportunity-starved young Hawk has been heavily courted by rival clubs since the Grand Final and would have other options if the Hawthorn-Essendon-North deal falls over.
The decision now facing the Saints could be simple – trade pick No.5 to Essendon or wave goodbye to Carlisle.
At the very least, it seems the Saints will have to come up with a deal that nets the Bombers a better return than picks No.15 and 18.
St Kilda has been exploring possible trades with other clubs involving pick No.5 where the Saints would acquire a lower first-round pick, say around No.9-12, and another pick or player.
The Saints had been hoping to use that lower first-round pick as the key plank of a trade with the Bombers, but the Hawthorn-brokered three-way deal has increased this strategy's degree of difficulty markedly.

So where are the nuffies that said we had nor power bargain with ........
Guys, question.
We trade carlisle for 14 and 18
Or trade him for pick 5 and we send pick 25 back. (This is what the saints are apparently pushing now)
Its halarious seeing the turn of events today. We went from having no power to having it all, with the player whos leaving us giving the power to us. What a day. And we traded melksham for 25. lol!!!
Now all we need is luey to be at the dons and holy shit what a thursday..
The kid is talented alrightSo where are the nuffies that said we had nor power bargain with ........
TO be fair, we didn't have any leverage when it was a one horse race, now that there's competition, it's an entirely different scenario.
5 and 41 for Carlisle?
I don't believe the saints were playing hardball when they were saying we won't give up pick five for him. Our list needs an elite mid a lot more than a key defender.
The best thing the saints might be able to do now is just withdraw from the race.
I prefer deals that are on the table. Looking at you Saints! What would you rather pick 5 or 15 & 18?

If we can get Aish for pick 18 and 25, then certainly pick 15 + 18.What would you rather pick 5 or 15 & 18?
