I understand the premiership carrot and I think he's flakey and shallow enough to take it, but he's also flakey and shallow enough to hold out for an unreasonable pay packet too. Let's just hope he's happy to take a fair bit less than the saints are offering.

if we needed a key back like st kilda do, I would be filthy if we missed out on JC because we didn't cough up pick 4. If the 2009 draft was held today in hindsight JC goes number 4 or 5 behind Fyfe, Martin, Cunnington?, and then JC.

obviously Scully was the best mid running around at that time but he hasn't improved like u would hope. Trengove and morabito have been injury plagued. a case can be made for Daniel Tahlia ahead of JC but I'd take jake even now on potential.

the draft is so hit and miss that missing out of a 200cm key back with the ability to swing forward and play in the ruck because u want to take 5 to the draft is ridiculous.

Irellevant now because you snoozed. The saints plan was to split 5 into two later picks and then give us one of them, but the competing offer is now two first rounders. So to match that you'd need to give us both of those picks, therefore you may as well just give us 5 directly.
