He never fumbles, so clean

Going to be a star
Even if it’s more about team success, no doubt he will get a Rising Star nomination. Wonder if it would be this week. Looking forward to many seasons watching him play.

Think Retschko probably deserves the nod this week over Cumming who put on arguably a bog performance

Leading up to the draft I recall some comparing him to a young Patrick Dangerfield.

I got curious and looked it up, Cumming’s first year stats are comparable, possibly even tracking better, to Danger’s second season (noting he only played two games in his first season).
Strange comparison. He’s nothing like Dangerfield. He reminds me more of Rory Sloane than Dangerfield.

Was it the last quarter when Ross gave him a hospital handball between 3 bombers in the centre square that looked like a turnover and he just accelerated, grabbed it and accelerated through them to deliver inside 50. That was special

He reminds me a lot of Cal Ward although I think he has a touch more pace. Great movement and vision through traffic, tough as nails. Clearly needs a couple of good preseasons as he still looks like a junior, but I see why we rated him so highly.

Spot on. Ward/Sloane type. heck me yes please if he gets anywhere near that level

Wont be this week Retchko could get it this week imo

Showed some really good pace with the ball. He seems kind of slow when chasing to tackle at times, but maybe it's just endurance
He’s definitely a bit reactive at times without the ball in his hands but I’m confident he’ll rectify that in time. Being an elite mid requires intense focus at all times - this is where Jack Ross has stepped up his game this year to become a genuine two way mid. Sam has all the tools to do the same.

Sloan in the midfield maybe but sloan had no foward craft or the speed and leap that sam has
Isaak Heeney/Cotchin mix is what came to mind when i seen his vision last year and with 50 games i think he will show more
