Ones that haven't made AA don't that's for sure.

But the funny thing about AFL is that contracts aren't re-negotiated on a game by game basis are they.
They ain't, but he ain't earning that $800K this year. He is playing like a $400K ruck.

Yep. Mason wood isn't playing like someone on 475k
Swallow isn't worth 600k either
Of course.

But is he earning that now? **** no.
No he's not.
But that's footy.

Are any of you campaigners putting $800k personally into the club and paying his wage?
**** me, what a stupid argument.

If a company anywhere in to world signed a high performing employee to a new, awesome contract, and then they dropped off in their performance the management would be undertaking significant performance reviews, trying to work with the employee to imporve standards and if they fail, would then take steps to move that employee to a more suitable role in which they were more adequately remunerated.

Unless of course you are Todd Goldstein. Nope. He earned half of his $800K wage for 2017 in 2015 apparently.

And they all get called on it on here. And no one is defending their performances.

But Todd, he is a different beast altogether.

Well i dont remember anyone bitchin about that mark in the 2015 Cats Final.

You take the good with the bad like all things in real life.

What??

Anyone realise goldy getting 800k was a result of his AA performance and other club's offering $ to leave. He was worth it at the time. Same thing could quite easily eventuate if Dustin Martin resigns with Tigers for 1.1 million.

If any ruckman's manager can bluff his way into scoring a huge deal like TG got well this bloke is doing his job...........there's 18 teams and there's space honestly for only 1 in todays modern footy team. This means there's others wanting to be top dog ie Preuss, Hickey (cannot get back into the saints team today) there are multiple ruckman there...........meaning demand isnt as high as a gun midfielder or forward jesus you could even throw in a main defender is this category today.
Ruckman should never be paid that sought of coin..........now b4 some repeats the NIcNat throw away line, he comes into the marketing bracket and even then theyre losing at the moment because he cant get on the track.

What's the average cost of a membership spread over 40 players?
40,000 members aren't funding Todd Goldsteins $800,000 salary??

Your love of the schnitzel has given you conjunctivitis to the problems in the team.

Agree with most .
Except that I think club's need a back up Ruckman, unless you have elite mids and can play without one.

Value? I guess we either paid $800 or we lost him.
At the time I think Every one was glad we retained him.

Each individual member contributes very little to player payments.

Not if he is playing for us next year.

1 >> Hawthorn played a season without one. Then picked up ( somehow to score the old saints ruckman)
2 >> This is the point where we say thanks but no thanks.....hindsight is worth its weight in gold here.
3 >> Ive always stated we should have followed the Hawthorn model in regards to ruckmen. The day they realise this is the day we start our list management issues.

North nearly stuffed that one up by winning it.
Goldy started off badly then played better and ended with a choke.

The haters are going to dive all over that kick, but his intensity couldn't be faulted.

However, his ball handling and disposal have dropped right off the cliff. It's clearly confidence.

I noticed a number of occasions today, him being bumped off the ball by players half his size. I think there is intensity issues. His work rate in Q1 was very poor.
