He definately looks preoccupied.

Not really into that kind of thing.......Are you trying to bate me?

6th best in a team that got beaten by 45 points. His direct opponent was 2nd best for the winning team. He got done.he was in the bests.
No, im not. Your position on players is normally very salient but in this instance your defence of Goldy is strange to me. There seems no logic to it.

I think there is a bit of over the top commentary both pumping his tires unnecessarily and unwarranted criticism. fact is with maj for a 195cm ruckman he is more than serviceable, and his forward work definitely makes him a more than worthy 3rd tall if the occasion calls for it. the thing with Majak is where do we decide he is best suited and its possible there may be better options in both roles on any given day. Also, the bullshit from some posters, relating to Majak as a viable alternative, is right off the charts, and also impels me to bring balance to the discussion..
I don't think I am undertaking any confirmation bias at all. His numbers have dropped off from his best over the last few years, that is indisputable. From available evidence he got beaten in the VFL on the weekend by his direct opponent.Nothing strange about bringing balance to the discussion. You yourself seem to have made the unusual step of straying in to confirmation bias territory. You're better than that.
I actually support the idea of putting him in the seconds to regain his touch.

Come on, mate. You engage in confirmation bias as much as anyone else.Nothing strange about bringing balance to the discussion. You yourself seem to have made the unusual step of straying in to confirmation bias territory. You're better than that.

:smirk look. Yep.Come on, mate. You engage in confirmation bias as much as anyone else.
Only pointing to the fact that he was 6th best while conveniently ignoring the fact that his opponent was 2nd best in a 45 point win. Looking only at the hitouts and ignoring the other significant areas where his opponent comprehensively beat him.
In the Dumont discussion, ignoring all other stats other than the ones that made your point. Engaging in false equivalence by comparing him and his numbers to Merret.
Don't get me wrong, I do it as well; pretty much everyone does, but it's a little rich to characterise yourself as some sort of paragon of balance.
Exactly i think most here understand that Daw is very lucky to have played last week. He looked slightly better playing just as Ruck.I don't think I am undertaking any confirmation bias at all. His numbers have dropped off from his best over the last few years, that is indisputable. From available evidence he got beaten in the VFL on the weekend by his direct opponent.
But its not just stats. Its impact. Compared to his previous years his impact in and around the contest this year simply does not pass the eye test. He is a shell of his former self, a shell which is still a decent ruck, but we expect more from Goldy because he is capable of so much more. When we needed him to stand up, he stood up. I'm calling a spade a spade mate.
Is he a better ruck option that Daw? Yep. Is he a better ruck option that Preuss? Yep. Would I prefer to see either of them in for the purpose of their development over Goldy? Daw, not really, Preuss yep. Would we be losing a lot if we played Preuss over Goldy at AFL level? I don't think so, until he starts to tire, which at this stage is happening to half the team because of their youth so no biggie.
In short, Goldy has dropped off. He is still pretty good, but he is not where he should be statistically or impact wise.
We got flogged in the clearances when he didn't play.
50 to 27. Please tell me how that is actually better than before?
It might be a coincidence that Ben10 had his worst game in a while with Goldy out. Or it might not. A team is an ecosystem, is my point.

Daw needs to get angry.
