I hate the term Racist Dog. It is an absolute insult to dogs to label them in correlation with racists. I prefer Racist Flog. I will call out racism every time. Does that make me a racist?
You like to generalise based on race so yeah?

It is almost always "keep politics that I don't agree with out of sport" as these same people are usually perfectly happy when the AFL celebrates causes that they agree with.
And when it comes to Tarryn Thomas, and especially given his stance on Treaty, when posters demand that discussion be taken to another thread (and not the Tarryn thread FFS) and they complain to moderators and moderators start deleting posts discussing Tarryn's personal political beliefs, then those moderators are actively silencing Tarryn and indigenous voices. That's a massive political stance from moderators.
I think the issue is that it seems as though every thread is clogged with some political or non-thread related posting which become side conversations you don’t understand
Your example might be an example of an exception but it’s getting caught in a broader issue.
I don’t think any of these discussions need deleting but put in the right threads.
Sometimes as you point out the politics and the football are hard to seperate and may not need to be
Nah, seriously
When do we find out what’s happening with this young man’s career?
I just was hoping that I could read more about football and not this inane s**t that is off topic and cluttering the thread.
You can't read more about Tarryn playing football because he's currently stood down.
I wish we could read about his training form too, but we can't.
Why's he stood down?
Because some form of anonymous complaint has been made to a quasi-judicial system run by the AFL about Tarryn apparently violating a "respect and responsibility" code.
I get that for the vast majority of people "politics" is something you do reluctantly once every few years at an election.
But fundamentally the reason you can't read about Tarryn and footy is because the AFL has made a series of political choices where they grant themselves more power than the cops and can prevent people from working if they deem players have done something that's, for want of a better term, "politically incorrect".
People want to discuss that here, on Tarryn's thread, because it is literally politics that's preventing Tarryn from training and us having his footy to discuss right now.
This is probably a response for two weeks ago but have we ever said he was stood down? I always thought he was (conveniently perhaps) on the injury list.

So like um, how long was dusty stood down for threatening to kill a journo with chopsticks?
EditedHe didn't threaten to kill a journo lol, just a punter.
Clogged is an understatement.
I have seen more posts on racism and Australia Day than on the status of the investigation.
Thanks for clarifying. That's because we don't know ffs, its not like we don't want to talk about it.
Edited
Martin, who started summer training late last month after a long off-season spent largely with Collingwood midfielder Dane Swan, will now face the club's leaders over the indiscretion.
It was in the middle of 2012 Martin was suspended for two weeks after missing training in an incident that saw former Tiger Daniel Connors – who had a list of prior off-field issues to his name - sacked.
Do we trust Caros sources? Can't see, but did find this gold, which reminds us why Richmond were wise to stick with Dusty who was far worse than Tarryn when he was young:

I thought I might have missed it amongst the multitude of off topic posts![]()
Do we trust Caros sources?
Caroline Wilson has reported on Channel Nine's Footy Classified that Dustin Martin will not be suspended by the club or the AFL, meaning he will not miss any 2016 home and away matches.
The AFL investigation was completed last week and found he had no case to answer, with an official statement on the matter to be released either Thursday or Friday this week,

Why the heck is this investigation dragging on so long for? So much for integrity.
Waiting for a big news day so they can sneak his suspension through without having to answer to the validity of the punishment. Why the heck is this investigation dragging on so long for? So much for integrity.
You really think it would be wise to make an example out of a young aboriginal male? When you’ve given hall passes for similar behaviour to young white kids.Ahhh, because its far more about the political lens than anything else.
The AFL managing the optics.
Tarryn clearly hasn't been accused of anything reaching a criminal level, nor apparently are we so concerned that we've stood him down.
That doesn't mean its good news - every chance the AFL decides to make an example of him with a suspension.
As a warning to players who do far worse at big clubs.
Players on the injured list have tended to run laps or do exercises or drills within the precinct (LaTrobe previously, Arden St now). I saw Tarryn on site at LaTrobe prior to this latest issue emerging even though his rehab program kept him away from the main group. However, once the story broke, he was nowhere to be seen. This is probably a response for two weeks ago but have we ever said he was stood down? I always thought he was (conveniently perhaps) on the injury list.
