Update. Told the young fella as much as I could and explained Tarryn won’t be playing for us again. He was sad and the bottom lip was touching the ground for a bit.

Suddenly he turned back to me and the frown turned to a grin. “It’s ok Dada, we still have Georgie Wardlaw”

At least with JHF we got wardlaw in return

With tarryn we can’t even salvage a second rounder in return

At many points in his career would’ve been worth at least a top 10 pick
I dont really care that we got nothing for him, the big win is not having a prawn in the squad undoing what blokes like sheazel bring, thats worth more than any trade.

Someone needed to have that chat with me when we sacked Boomer because I'm still not over it

In all honesty besides a few dazzling moments in a number of games mostly far and few inbetween I think we got caught up in what he could have become or his potential talent. He really hasnt lived up to that talent overall so time will tell whether he plays again and what he does with that talent
Nah, not having this. This is copium. He produced throughout games. He was a star and a potential top 5 player in the league. If he gets another shot, he'll live up to his talent.

Doesn't change that sacking him was the overwhelmingly obvious thing to do

Just saw a bit of the TV news and the reporter was saying he can play footy again after the suspension if over but he’d have to do behaviour training first. **** me, Thomas isn’t the only one who needs to learn how to take lessons.

RooRucklenical say that fast a few times. A safe bet. Surely our olde mascot couldn’t do anything bad enough to be escorted out of the club

Yeah I’ll definitely be running with something more generic this time. I’d love some wordplay on Sheezel/Wardlaw but with all mention of curses atm I’m sure next weeks news would be ‘Harry the Ripper, mass murderer of Arden St’

A star?

Just shows how far the bar has fallen in the last decade or so compared to the stars who truly are worthy that have worn b&w

We will get nothing for him. He will walk to whatever club wants him.

The Collingwood accountants are probably revising the budget as we speak to include $100k for Thomas cover up money ;)
Thomas would be right at home at the Dees and playing next to Oliver. They have a list spot free for the mid season draft now.

😂 What a nightmare for the AFL.

If another club picks TT up would that lessen the amount you have to pay out to him? Maybe it is in your best interest for him to find a new home in the AFL.

Be interesting to see how another club explains recruiting him to their staff, players/coaches, sponsors and members (some who've already said they'd cancel their memberships). Can't see it happening in 2025. Hope he turns it around but I'm not sure he's got the desire and workrate to be an elite footballer. Just seemed happy enough coasting on big money and the lifestyle. I worry he'll head down a different path shall we say not involving footy at all given who he associates with.
What’s the average lifespan of an AFL footballer? 4 years? 5?

This bloke is gifted. He can mark and kick the sherrin like most of us can only dream of.
You have 15 years to make a career for yourself. 15 years to make as much coin as possible before you join the real world.
With the talent he has you just don’t mess a chance like this up.
All the nightclubs and drugs and women in the world won’t mean shit right now when you’ve been sacked from an AFL club.

He's left at least 5-6mil on the table with this f*** up.
Over what? An ex?
You silly boy.

Considering how much time and effort and energy the club put into him, our staff are exhausted. They’re tired. Especially the women employed at the club in roles having to help him, whom some started out a couple years ago excited about being involved with the club and are mentally and physically drained having to deal with this campaigner.
He took away the fun of working at the club. Of watching this new wave of young guns come through.
Literally a ticking time bomb and it went off.

There is a sense of relief that this is done now. Viney captured it well. He was a giant liability and strain on resources.

As to what happens to him now it’s not our problem but it’s time to grow up. Whatever challenges he has ahead of him and whichever path he decides to take, I honestly don’t give a shit. F*** him..
He’s a past player now and all parties move on.

Could have had butters

Instead got Polec and tarryn

Bryce lewis and brad Scott special
LOL. Is that you Rawling? Lewis’ last draft was the Simpkin, Larkey, Zurhaar drafts. Joyces and Finnigans along with Scotts are to blame for the Polec trade etc. :stern look

8 brownlow votes in half a season in the second worst team in the league. A back end to 2021 that had people frothing. Absolute silk whenever he did anything football related. Yes, he was a star.

Not sure why you're using the phrase 'truly worthy,' as if being an arseh*le precludes one from being a gun footballer. Two of the three greatest players ever are and were colossal pricks.

Guess this is on me for expecting that Bigfooty wouldn't immediately start downplaying his football impact to cope
