Wanted Ward, but just as happy to get Gibcus as it means that the backline could well be set for the next decade with Balta and Gibcus intercepting everything.

STOKED with this. Was a top 3 and top 5 pick for large portions of the year. Intercept defender like Lever but has an insane leap but can also get a fist in and defend. Him and Balta will be our new Rance and Grimes.

Great pick. Flexibility now to move Balta forward if ever needed.

But two uber athletic, high flying intercept markers in the backline sounds pretty sweet

Really like the pick. Lots of midfield options later and this pick means we don't need to reach and grab a leftover tall.

Looks to play a bit like Aaron Naughton with his leap and vice grip.

Super talented kid not surprised we got him, my tip is we see him as a key forward , jacks got 12m left , let’s go , good luck gibbo

Always thought Graeme Gellie was well ahead of his time at St Kilda .. turning forwards ingo backs, backs into forwards.
We've adopted his model.
