No point risking injury in the VFL when the benefits of any conditioning cannot be transferred to the AFL.But isn't that the point of playing them? They are both inexperienced playersm
I guess it depends what he can get out if it.No point risking injury in the VFL when the benefits of any conditioning cannot be transferred to the AFL.
This is not the case in the previous 23 weeks of the season.
Settle your hate boner for him. He's a real talent, plain and simple. If he's shaking his head for getting subbed then he has a couple of kangaroos running around in his top paddock.
We should have drafted the best available player which was Wanganeen-Milera.

He's good but he's been kissed on the wacka by the injury fairy.Settle your hate boner for him. He's a real talent, plain and simple.
Yeah and it's not like a lennon/cripps scenario because gibcus is still a pretty good player in his own right. He's good but he's been kissed on the wacka by the injury fairy.
But we picked for needs not best player available and you shouldn't do that in the first round.Yeah and it's not like a lennon/cripps scenario because gibcus is still a pretty good player in his own right.
And all the arguments from all the people saying he should've played in the VFL are what? And if he does get re-injured this coming game like previous occasions (which nobody can guarantee isnt going to happen) he will probably have to retire.
And all the arguements from all the people saying we should have played him will be catastrophically wrong. If it happens, I don't want to hear 'it was bad luck'.
If there is any benefit in holding him back he should be. There's a full off season of additional strength and conditioning available.
Gibcus was best available at pick #9 and was expected to be taken higherBut we picked for needs not best player available and you shouldn't do that in the first round.
What a load of absolute baloney. We were so desperate for tall key position players when we picked him and know for a fact the Aints would have taken him if we didn’t.But we picked for needs not best player available and you shouldn't do that in the first round.
Ok point taken but in hindsight we were horribly wrong. What a load of absolute baloney. We were so desperate for tall key position players when we picked him and know for a fact the Aints would have taken him if we didn’t.
You’re a hindsight king with your view on his drafting. Yes, NAS has been great for the Aints but Gibcus was rated extremely highly in his draft, and will be a very good player imo.

Gibcus needs to be happy with what he has done this season and take 3 months off and rest relax and get excited to come back to pre season fresh and motivated. Nothing to gain but everything to lose playing him in the VFL now on.
My recollection was he was touted at the Suns pick (3rd open draft pick)No one had NWM as a better option than Gibcus in that draft
We didn’t reach for Gibcus in any way shape or form
Going back in the archives 4 years ago , nice detective work sherlock.
Yeah and if the Suns took him then we likely would have ended up with Mac Andrew certainly not NWMMy recollection was he was touted at the Suns pick (3rd open draft pick)

I did say I don't know the players that well that time 4 years ago. Leek and Hobbs will be good players imo.Hey I’m a big fan of history… thought you were too?

Look up my Tom Brown posts as well.

We only wanted a defender. I don't think Gibcus will ever be worth $2 million a year.So you didn’t know the players very well but definitively NWM was the best player?
Plus at the time we desperately needed key position players and he was clearly the best option on both frontsMy recollection was he was touted at the Suns pick (3rd open draft pick)
